Okay, so what an experience this has been. To summarize what has happened so far; I ordered an iPhone 5s silver 16GB at my local verizon wireless store on September 20th at approx. 4pm ET. Originally I was told a ship date of 9/24 in the store. Upon leaving the store, I looked at the receipt I was given and that had a ship date of 9/27. Not much longer after that I received my email confirmation, which stated a ship date of 10/7. All of this happened within an hour.
I just assumed the 10/7 ship date was extremely conservative and that the 9/24 or 9/27 dates were much more likely. On Monday, the 23rd, my credit card was charged for $213.99, which is what it said I would be charged on my receipt. So the next day, without any updates on my order tracking or any emails, I called customer support to see if anything new was happening with my order. Upon calling the customer support line, I opted to check an order status through the automated system, which then told me something along the lines of "Our records show an order associated with this number has been delivered and activated, to hear this message again press 1." Confused, I called my local store to see if my phone had come in. (I chose to have it shipped to the store obviously) The guy on the phone had no idea what I was talking about, but said mine was supposed to come in the 9/24 shipment, but was delayed a day. So, of course, the next day I called in the evening again. It was the same guy and he still acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, and like he didn't just tell me the day before that they were getting a shipment that day.
Since then I've talked to some reps from customer support who could only tell me things like, "says here your order is scheduled to ship on 10/7." I explained everything above to them, but they acted like I was an idiot and just repeated my estimated shipping date was 10/7.
Once again, today when I called customer support it had told me my order was delivered and activated. So I got a rep on the line and complained like hell. Stating that I didn't care if my ship date was going to really be 10/7, but if it was going to be 10/7 everything I have should say 10/7, and when I call it shouldn't tell me my order is delivered. She couldn't tell me why it was saying that of course. But she did say that my order was originally scheduled for shipment on 9/24, which was why my card was charged on 9/23. My order was delayed though, obviously. She then said that any order for an iPhone 5s silver 16GB placed between 3am ET and 9:30pm ET was scheduled for shipment on 10/7. (So for any of you who ordered that exact model in that time frame who are also confused, there you go.) After she said that she said since my order was at 4pm that it was likely it could ship before 10/7, and that it was actually possible for all of the orders to ship before then. As it's merely an estimate.
So that's been my experience. Extremely confusing, with a lot of very vague answers, and very little communication on Verizons part. I hope you guys are faring better than I am. I just wanted a new phone lol, I didn't realize how difficult it could be to simply order a phone.
