Didn't want to wait, so ended up changing my order to a 512gb Silver Pro Max for Friday delivery. Back on the hype train!

Ha! I was tempted to do the same, but not for me. Guess I’m going to be mostly alone here with my 27th date. You all just come with all the initial impressions and pics too!

Do you guys think the store will have a good amount of stock on Friday morning if I go then and pick one up? My original order to arrive on the 20th got all screwed up and had to re-order with the 9/27 date. I'm thinking about cancelling that and just going into the store. Has anyone experienced long waits or anything at the VZ store with new releases over the past few launch days? The only reason is someone is buying my XsMax and I kind of promised to them on the 21st.

Do not cancel the order wait untill you are there and see if they have the phone. then cancel the order when they tell you too. this way you have an option of either or...more than likly youll be able to get your phone on release. Just go there when they open. I did this last year because I preordered late.

Good idea! I just didn't know if they need to reinstate my upgrade or if it would just transfer over.

yupp they will, it is instant. they will just ask you to cancel the current order. as they can't process the upgrade till its cancelled, then you are good to go.

I realize you mentioned 9/27 as your ship date, but you might consider waiting a few more days to make sure that your shipping status doesn't change to 9/20 before cancelling. I've seen some people in the past order late, given a shipping date past the launch date and have gotten their phone on launch day... In regards to going into a VZW store on launch day; there are quite a few people that I've seen on here that have said they have been able to go into a Verizon store on launch day, and had gotten the phone they wanted. I've bought an iPhone in a VZW store for launch day, but that was way back to the 4s, lol.

EDIT: I just saw @SnowWhiteFF's post about waiting to cancel the order until you confirm that you are unable to get a phone in the store on launch day. That's a great idea!!! Don't listen to me, lol

I keep seeing people mention Apple Pay. Does Verizon accept Apple Pay now?
I used Apple Pay last year for preorder and it was a total screw up. The pay didn’t go through for a lot of people (including me) and had to pay by different method. Luckily still got my phone same day as everyone. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Learned my lesson.

Okay, so this is only for phone purchases, not bill payments?

My order iPhone Pro 256 green is marked as shipped with UPS tracking number. Tracking number is not coming up in the system but hopefully it will by Thursday... I want to pickup at the UPS hub so I don't have to wait at home all day.

Just got notification of a shipment, which I assume are the phones? It lists 2 reference numbers, both of which are the same.

Is the weight around .95lbs? Mine is shipped via UPS Mail Innovations Expedited, no delivery date yet

My 64 GB Space Grey Pro Max is still in "preparing to ship". Weird thing with my order happened on Saturday night--I got a random email from Verizon saying that my order had not completed yet because my payment didn't go through. I had the Apple Pay issue last year that many had, so I was immediately freaking out. I got on the website, and they charged everything to my card on file except for the 12th payment I needed to make on my XS Max in order to get the early upgrade. I have no idea why they wouldn't just charge the entire sum to the card on file.

I immediately paid the leftover amount with my card, but I am now worried that my order will get cancelled for no reason like it did last year. I might try calling Verizon this afternoon just to make sure, even though I know they're going to try to sell me a bunch of data plans I don't want.

I got the same e-mail last night, and when I tried to pay it online, Verizon was about to charge my card $2,592.68 or something similar.

I called Verizon this morning and straightened it out, and he said they were still having issues from Friday, and apparently one of the issues was billing issues, so he charged the $228 to my account.

I thought about this but I paid with a Verizon gift card  I really don't want to put down $100 more and wait for them to refund me.

One year Verizon somehow lost both my wife's and my iPhone trade ins. We sent in our 6S's as trade ins for a 7 and a 7 Plus and neither were getting processed through the return center for some reason. I eventually discovered it when they started trying to bill me like $1600 for the remaining balance on the phones we sent back. It took me months to get it sorted out, after talking to several "managers". They even shut our phones off once because I refused to pay for phones I didn't have anymore.

When my wife traded in her 7 for an 8 and I traded my 7 Plus for an X, they only sent us return slips for one of the old phones, and it took me two phone calls to get them to understand what I needed, and then I had the same problem with the return of the 7--it had been sent back and received in the warehouse but nobody seemed to know what happened to it after that. It eventually showed up, but I never got the email saying they had it, which freaked me out.

SO......when I get emails like the one I got Saturday, I freak out. I think this year is the last straw--I just need to switch over to Apple's trade in program instead. I like Verizon's service and network speeds, but the trade in process sucks.

I've had similar problems with Verizon's trade in program. I've been on the early upgrade cycle since the 7 plus, but every year like clockwork, they never send me the the return box/label to send back my old phone. Last year, I called 8-9 times to request them, before finally they said they were just going to credit my line for the charges I'd been paying on the old phone, and told me to keep it

Last year when they couldn't figure out how to send me a return label, they had me print out a return label for some other phone on my account and said "it didn't matter" which label I used and that it would all work itself out once they got the iPhone 8 back. That ended up being true, but I did NOT trust it to work that way. They have no idea what they're doing sometimes.
