The video looks fake to me.

there is more bezel than anything at the same 3.5 inch physical screen, at the start.

As the video goes on, the *new* iphone is turned on its side and *appears* to expand slightly, to show the *now* 4-inch....

Nice try..... but i'm not getting one... resolution is simply not worth it......

Looks fake to you? Is it because it says "by MacRumors" in the beginning? Hmmm

well, it's only 1-2 pixels off from actual 16:9.

As for native 720p, yes, there would be some downscaling since it's 640 pixels, not 720.

arn
So why doesn't Apple just make it 720p?

The whole phone would be awkward if that is what it is going to look like. If Apple is going to make a 4 inch screen make it a true 4.

Wow you seriously have no idea what you're talking about. 'True 4"'? What does that even mean?

What 'problem'? Making a larger phone makes a problem for me and the millions who actually USE their phone. I don't want a larger phone around my arm when I'm running, or in my pocket, or in my hand. Get a clue man.

Get off your high horse. Those of us who don't have dainty little woman hands actually wouldn't mind a larger phone.

(Apologies to any petite ladies I may have offended :) )

If it is a let down is it really revolutionary?

The problem for Apple is more people will go to Android if Apple doesn't do something huge.

A 4" screen with nothing but six rows of icons looks weird, to say the least. I really hope the "one more thing" of iOS 6 is a customizable homescreen with widgets.

Am I the only one who hates this new iPhone? In my opinion the 4" just looks awful and is not very probable. Think I'll be holding onto my 4S for a while yet.

For the first few seconds I thought to myself ,"cool". But then I got that sick felling in my gut that's telling me it's basically the same thing we all have seen before. Especially when used in portrait mode.

I'm wondering what the landscape keyboard is going to look like.

There's a reason it's not shown in the video: a taller fone makes no sense.

Just like 6 rows of icons by 4 makes no sense.

Guess what?! It's going to be the same number of icon rows, and the extra space will be used for a scrolling text status update bar!

I love people who tell you 'get out' when you express your opinion.

What JS82712 is telling you is "RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, you shall consume Apple products as they are, you shall not question the great Apple!"

Get an Android please.

Why is his question not legitimate? We're already changing the resolution and the aspect ratio, why is Apple settling for some weird resolution instead of having 720p? I think it's strange too. One could question Apple's decisions without having to buy an Android phone. Geez.

Lame...not sure why the hype over a really tall, narrow, but still small screen with no big improvements in resolution.

This is going to look irregular on the hand when surfing the web. The tall screen is going to give the illusion that the device is very narrow.

IMO.

So Apple will just keep it the same small size forever as to not hurt app developers? Where is the innovation in that.

It's a wise decision IMO. Just get smaller tablet if you're into a larger phone or just get an android.
