Sounds pretty fat to me...

Note that in "movie-mode" the numbers for 'time-played' and 'time-remaining' should only appear when using the click-wheel to scroll, pause, etc. The main advantage in normal "music-mode" would be full display of large artwork, and the possibility that the entire album-name will fit into the three-line view. Nice for people like me who use their iPods as desktop-jukeboxes as well... As for actual viewing on the screen.... probably possible, and if you don't mind, then sure. I think that a video-out with RCA (a la iPod Photo cable and special dock) would be necessary for this to be a success.

According to AppleInsider, Apple is prepared to launch a video-capable version of the iPod in the coming weeks, possibly as soon as the scheduled October 12th media event.
The new iPod is expected to be a similar form factor as the present 60 GB iPod, although several millimeters thinner. It is expected to have a smaller click-wheel as found on the iPod nano, making way for a larger high-resolution color display than the current full-size iPod offering.
A major iTunes update is expected with the release as well, containing a significant number of downloadable music videos and other short movie content.

Nice calendar.. hope you got a good price on it.xy14 said:Heres just a little fact to prove music videos on iPod Movie.
When is the last time Apple updated the Music Videos section, other than for an ad?
The answer is October, 2 months ago.
I hope Death Cab for Cutie's Soul Meets Body is available soon, i miss it.
Well, the date was out for most of us, (I went along with your date of the 7th), but I would say that everything else is going to plan. Rumours of Video out for airport sounds like it coudl tie in with the iPod AV, but perhaps this is one feature to far and we will just get steaming from Macs instead.podfuture said:Do you think Apple insider is using Macrumors as a source
I was right about the nano. If the iPod Video launches next Tuesday having the form factor I announced.. do I still have to be a newbie?
It's ok. I can deal with it. Only a thousand meaningless posts to go.

mn_hawk said:Not to be a broken record, but as each day passes it becomes clear to me that Apple doesn't care about a computer ANYWHERE. All this iPod garbage just puts me to sleep. I thought as Mac users we were finally going to make some headway into the computing mainstream (access to ALL web content for one thing) but what kind of message does this TOTAL focus on iPods send to the rest of the computing world?
thexmac said:"The device will also have a button for the direct evaluation of the videos, and iTunes will be combined total with a new version of software, allowing that the evaluation is sent online for the site of the Apple."![]()

It's late Sunday evening, your bored, your not tired. Blockbuster closed at 11. You go on the iMovie Video Store and download a film.
Absolutely perfect.
And as for people saying having video on an iPod would be daft because you can't jog while watching a video.
What about watching on the train?
What about watching a program on your lunch break?
What about that really silly film you made in college that you want to show people?
Chundles said:Erm, your quote made no sense and the picture doesn't look good. So much wasted space and a regular square screen.
