Look at people paying for overpriced pcs whining about the possibility of an apple product being out their wallet

If you broke just say that??

I'd rather spend $2,000.00 on a real-life experience. Not artificial reality.
While I respect that idea, I don't understand it. We watch movies and play games to take a break from reality. I can see how VR of terrific quality could provide new experiences, now types of movies and games, the ability to have a sense of presence in places you may never ever be able to afford to travel to or for many, who are physically unable to experience in new ways. Faster and easier. I agree, being able to travel to some real destination can be better, but it's not always possible. Next gen VR can provide a whole new range of presence, communication, and entertainment.

But that's not all... And for $4000, you can have that, plus the real travel... joking. Even a weekend mini-vacation outing costs over $2000 these days.

Mine worked great, showing relevant car information/data, navigation/gps, etc. You were expecting a helmet-based HUD, like on an F-35?

Point of a HUD is to present useful info at a glance so you can keep your eyes on the road. When it has such poor visibility that it takes longer to focus on to read then you're better off just glancing down at the dash panel.

I doubt I would want to pay that much upfront for something that’s a first generation product. That being said, if Apple set up a system where you would lease it for a year and then trade it in for an updated set, that may work.

Apple will have a hard sell. Such a device has very few consumer level applications but hundreds of industrial level ones.

I work in a science lab cum engineering workshop and I think of loads of uses for an AR headset every week. When I’m walking the streets I think of zero. And I work in design and engineering so I know what I’m talking about.

All these commenters flat out saying no when we all really have no idea how it will look and what it will do. My answer is, depends.
I agree. The speculation or rumor is this thing will have 2X M2 processors. That sounds like some serious processing power. Then 2X 4K displays. That's going to seem like an 8K monitor with a very wide view (infinite?). LiDar, head and body tracking. That's a nice bundle. I can see how the price is going to be greater than $300.

Is Sony even able to make 4k micro led displays that small? If so they alone have to be worth the price of admission.

Can‘t see this being released any time soon with those specifications but happy to be proved wrong.

I‘d pay £1500 to £2000 if it was a truly awesome ground breaking product.

Apparently you didn't read what I said. Mine worked great. Visibility was fine looking at the displayed information as well as the road.

No.

I have not spent that much on a single object since... uh... um...

... uh ...

... since I was destroying my credit buying music equipment due to an SSNRI drug making me fail to have much of any impulse control. Been off that garbage since 2010. Been in poverty since.

Still holding on to what little savings I have for a new desktop Mac that’s not an all-in-one... 🤷🏽‍♂️ And then maybe I’ll buy a mid-range gaming PC if I can afford it. I miss playing games that impress me with graphics...

True. I’ll probably be the first one placing my order in. Too loyal and vested in Apple inc.

The majority of us will be placing our orders in and they will also sell out quickly too. That’s the reality we will face.

There are idiots out there who spend $20 on a buffing cloth. So I expect this product will be able to get even more out of said idiots.

Yeah and it’s pretty amazing. They were demoing from their labs a while ago, absolutely amazing to put that many pixels in such a tiny screen. And then pushing pixels with near zero lag to two of them, mind blowing.

What was most surprising is they were doing it for apple before releasing their own Next gen VR.

I would pay the much for a premium headset, but I think Apple also needs something lower-end to help support the software ecosystem.

I don't understand why this video makes so many outlandish claims about how it will look. I mean there's no way you can say these things with such certainty. I'm hoping that apple will be able to make the headset much more minimal and less cumbersome than things like the oculus. I can't stand wearing it for more than a few minutes before my cheeks hurt from the weight. I'm hoping apple makes it more like Google Glass in that it's a light headband - but improve on that concept by making the screen more like a standard pair of glasses.
The claims just in general, literally no idea yet keep acting like it’s going to be released with no questions asked, there isn’t even an announcement ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️
