I wouldnt for a first generation product at least.

Also would depend on how productive I can actually be with realityOS assuming it’s just iPadOS being projected in front of me with some AR niches. you put these on and boom- you have a huge viewing space for work and entertainment.

But wait what about battery life? ? I dunno but I’m excited for the marketing they’re gonna pump out for this.

Those prices aren't out of line for very high-end VR equipment . The question is; will the actually be a high-end VR product (and one that supports standards; Steam VR on Windows systems, etc.), or will it be lackluster and priced incredibly high because it is the only Mac compatible HMD? For me it would have to have some pretty spectacular features as my current HMD is already extremely good. Killer features for me are wide FOV combined with excellent pixel-density, as both are absolutely vital to immersion.

Everyone is so scandalized by the expected price, but you don’t have to buy it! You’ve gone this long without one—going a few years more will change nothing in your life. I won’t be buying, but then again, I have no niche that this could fill in my life. It’s up to apple to prove me wrong. If it really is worth 2k then it sounds like it will be amazing

What if AppleTV and HomePod was built into this. Imagine using universal control with macOS and iOS then you have some Minority Report tech at its infancy here.

Q: Would You Pay $2000+ for Apple's AR/VR Headset?

A: if it was consumer focused and had sufficiently compelling features, sure. But I expect v1 to be developer focused, which I am not.

Way to get overly technically, the product if exists has not even been announced or even released why hurt one’s brain over speculation of a potential release. It’s not like an existing product update to draw some educated conclusions.

I would. I mean Apple is going to need to launch with a mix of main stream games and some really awesome games and content but I would if they did that. Other wise I think any more than 2000 is going to be a hard sell.

I would like to use a VR headset for virtual monitors on my MBA, since I can't bring monitors on the road with me (not practically at least). That would be an interesting experience. But not for $2000. Maybe at $1000, if it was far superior than anything else out there, but we are still so early in the VR lifespan and technology.

If I can sit at my desk, put on the headset, and have a virtual 60" 8K curved Mac display that doesn't bounce around and isn't hard to look at...that would be worth some coin.
