what happens if you COPY a video instead of "send by email" from pictures/gallery on the iphone. and then PASTE into an email..

and sends it to the "mobile setup" email-adress in your youtube account?
adress is like: jka234Ssd23@m.youtube.com
(check youtube -> settings -> mobile setup)

will it be uploaded in full 720p to youtube? maybe someone with a iphone4 can try it out? if so maybe this is a work-around to upload full-res to youtube from phone. ofcouse it will take some time because of size. but will. :)

Have you tried using the iMovie available in the App store?

that is what I am trying to figure out.

I have been unable to find it in the app store.

from what i've read/heard the iMovie for iphone app requires the A4 processor.. so iphone4-only so far. maybe in the future. who knows..

so the copy->paste->youtube_email was a bad idea? anyone willing to try it out?

if the video is tagged as 720p when doing this?

yes of course.. but iphone+youtube compression is worse than just youtube compression?
is it not? ^_^

Posting the 'raw' file is always better then double compression. This is obviously not as easy as just uploading to YouTube.

In other words, to view the true quality of the video you can't post it to YouTube

yes i know that.. but when using "post on youtube" feature on iphone it wont be tagged as 720p on youtube because of in-iphone-compression before uploading? correct?

so if you want to upload it with as high quality as possble without going through the hassle of connecting the iphone to your computer.?
then maybe the way i described is the best availible way.. it all depends on how the youtube_email function handles the attached movie-file.

I see that it still suffers from the White Glare problem like the other iphones when shooting towards a light source.

I think all cameras with a tiny lens suffers from this problem.

It might not be an issue. In the description of that video he states that he still has the plastic over the camera lens so maybe that could be the cause??

Is not the purpose of of this thread to see the real quality of the camera on the phone... If not, and it is just upload random videos then I guess anything goes.

Does anyone know when iMovie comes out? Is it set to release to the app store tomorrow maybe? I didnt have time to read the whole thread, sorry if it's a repost

I tried this, but I am unable to paste anything longer than 5 seconds into the email - the paste button won't show up. Heres a quick 5 second video in 720P (emailed from iPhone).
I'll try and do a couple more...
