Did anyone really thing Apple would make something revolutionary lol look at every other Apple product now days it’s nothing great, they spend more time hyping things that just are not that good, haven’t been impressed with anything Apple has done in years, even the software has gone down hill, time to look at other companies. Vision Pro was never gonna be worth the money Apple is greedy and they don’t care about there customers

Apple the same company that couldn’t even include a battery in the headset because it’s to heavy while they put a useless glass screen on the front, the same company that charges 200 for a silly case and small battery. Sorry but it can’t continue they rip customers off with storage and everything, I used to love Apple but they are greedy. Quest 3 is everything Apple should have made and better. Who wants to pay nearly 4000 for something worse than a 480 device

Tim needs to go, he isn’t cutting it anymore, the last few years we have seen the down fall of Apple, yes they make money good for them but products are not good anymore, updates are tiny we still have notches and huge cut outs on displays, every year updates get smaller, they are behind the competition in many ways. Apple isn’t at the front anymore. They charge way too much for things they shouldn’t. We the consumer suffer. The hype is always better than the real thing

They’ve only been working on this headset for a decade. Definitely not enough time to make it so you can move icons into a different order or folders.

Distortion free display
Precision Eye tracking
Simple gesture interface
Avoid motion sickness
Maintain awareness of the outside world
Open air spatial audio

"I don't see homescreen folders on the list of priorities"
"Do an inverse sort."
"Ah, there it is, right at the top!"

The meta quest 3 is looking very appealing now for me

I love mine but even the Quest is getting a little uncomfortable watching anything and the VP is apparently even more heavy! yesterday I watched a 1h 20 min movie and I just couldn’t wait for it to be over. You certainly don’t notice it as much when u are really engaged with playing a game but once you sit down, doing nothing but watching, you notice

Why don't they give people the option to connect their Macs via Thunderbolt? Than bandwidth would not be an issue. If you work on your desk, a cable would not be a major inconvenience. You might have your Vision Pro plugged in anyway, as the battery lasts two hours or less. And if you leave your desk, you will probably take off the Vision Pro anyway. I would also prefer a wired internet connection instead of having Wi-Fi antennas so close to my head.

I never understood why people want everything wireless. Even charging. That is such a dumb idea. If you charge wireless, 30% or more of your energy is lost. A high price for convenience. A wired charger only loses about 10%. Why does a keyboard have to be wireless, if it always stays at the same place?

I do not think people really get cancer from all that radiation, but it can at least have an effect on your sleep.

It's not for everyone but people want who we say they are wrong. Just like every new iPhone out people always saying it's worse than last year's etc. Applications for use are there already. people companies use them. To each their own.
very true - I buy things because I either need them or want them. For the first category the bar is very low to excite me - for the 2nd category it is dependent on my vision how to use it. Man it's killing me to wait in Europe till I can buy one
you guys have memojis and now is weird
Exactly - can't understand the harshness about a single feature other than wanting to hate it - that's the internet full of people not having the resources to buy things and thus they must be bad. I am very excited about the Hill HX50 too - unfortunately not in my financial reach
The reviews make me even less interested than I was before. Seems like a gimmick you'll get bored of after 1-2 weeks.
Very good - the sooner people in the US loose their interest the earlier I can buy one in Europe! Honestly - why even bother to comment in case you had already made up your mind? Same applies to me for almost 99.99 % of things I will never buy - ther'll be always more things you dislike than you like and that's a good thing - resources are limited.
Looks great! I’m fine being a beta tester. I believe we will get VisionOS 2.0 this fall, though…it will be announced alongside iOS 18, with a focus on fitness and customization. :)
I am fine being an alpha user and will get the VisionOS 1.0.1 and 2.0 in autumn on Vision Pro One - they'll be no new HW within the upcoming 1 ½ to 2 years - but there will be many new SW iterations like for every SW enabled product with good support. As long as things are fixable in SW I have no issue in being upfront in technology - that was always the case in my life and I am glad I kept my curiosity alive 🤓
So to sum up, wait until second or third gen
You mean until 2028 🤣

I could be dead by then due to whatsoever reason - potentially being shocked by the unjustified harsh negative comments in a moment falling off my leather Charles Eames EA 119 that costed significantly more than the AVP 😂

It really feels like a first gen product. It works fine, but there is so much room for improvement.

Why only one Desktop when sharing from Macs?
Why so ugly personas?
Why no real stand alone Apps?
Why no real Desktop-Replacement on its own?
Why such a bad physical design and such short battery life?
Why so poor outer Display Quality?

And some basic Questions even Apple can not answer, like always beeing alone in VR, no real UseCase to it, Isolation etc...

Honestly did not expect to hear in the review that the Quest 3 has a wider field of view than the Vision Pro.
Speaking personally Field of View for me is one of my biggest complaints, and something I desperately want to see improved.
The feeling of looking thru binoculars is what stops me feeling totally immersed. I will admit I was expecting Vision Pro to be better in this regard given it's price point.

It might be a dumb idea, but I am 100% sure someone is going to make a 3rd party head strap which has a pouch at the back to hold the battery.
I'm guessing this would then balance out the weight. So there would be more actual weight you are carrying, but it will be vastly more balanced between the front and back of your head.
It would be interesting to see people review such a product (which is bound to be made) and some extra weight, but more balanced it actually preferable in reality.

The personas look awful and are extremely creepy. I think I'd be more creeped out seeing my own than someone else's. In fact I'm probably going to outright avoid looking at that menu with the person preview or taking FaceTime calls on it for that reason.

Personas and EyeSight require a lot of improvement. Through multiple software update, hoping it will improve.

The lack of multi-monitor Mac support is really unfortunate, that seems like it should be the killer app for Vision Pro.

I can't think of any hardware limitation, a decent WiFi 6 network should easily have enough bandwidth for 2-3 displays. So maybe that'll come in an update.
That limitation has been resolved.

“… allows multiple computers and multiple displays. Web-based, no install required, you can bring others with regular computer into your spatial view. Come support the open web, http://aro.work.”

There's also the third-party Immersed app, which is coming soon to VisionOS and allows for multiple displays.

I can’t wait for this to crash and burn. I’d call it Tim’s folly, but his entire tenure of steering Apple toward maximizing shareholder (and not user) value is his true folly.
No, he doesn't even maximize long term shareholder value. That would be using Apple Silicon to gain market share and future services revenue, not milk upgrades. What Tim is maximizing is his own bonuses for the next couple years before he retires. Then it will be sombody else's problem.

I wonder why people are calling the projected mac screen a "crisp 4k display". It's 2560x1440, that's 2,5k.

Gen. 4 will be the one to buy.
Apple will need to cut back on their greedy prices.
Remove the front display. Lighter plastic version, make the 2 headbands optional. And also battery optional (that 3700 miliamp battery is just way way way too expensive).
Remove the charger and maybe even the cable also.
Cut back on all the accessories and not because they say its to save the environment but to cut the price.
I want the headset but not the super crazy overpriced accessories.
Those "crazy overpriced accessoires" are just that: Overpriced. If they leave them out, I don't think the vision will get significantly cheaper than that. Nobody believes that manufacturing that $200 battery costs apple even a third of that of thag it's a $200 part of ghe visions price.

But they'll probably scrap in the next iteration and maybe use some more sensible materials.
What do you mean? Of course you can use it without battery!
No, you can't yet. The battery got a proprietary connector on a fixed cable - if you want to plug it in, you need to go through the battery.
The images I saw all had lights reflecting off the front and that changes the appearance.
But it doesn't make it blurry or dim. All reviewers so far were universally disappointed by it, and you can assume that they weren't using video lights all the time. e.g. Joanna Stern being outside.
