On your shipping confirmation, do you guys have a 15 digit number under "Device/SIM ID"? I'm trying to figure out if my phone is being shipped with a preloaded SIM card or not.

Mine is aboard FedEx Flight 735 to Sioux Falls, SD. Should be arriving in about 2 hours. :)

Yes.

How can we track the plane?

Use FlightAware.com. Then know the big city close to you where FedEx will send it. Look at the departure time on the tracking info, and match that to the depature flight. For me, it was a 3:55pm flight out of Memphis to Sioux Falls.

Can someone please tell me how to track my iPhone. I saw it left Memphis, but how do you know the flights, tail number, etc. That's crazy. I just got a tracking number.

EDIT: Nevermind I see the one going to Honolulu. I'm sure it's gonna stop in CA though, doubt it would be a straight flight.

All you Fed-Exers that live in Florida and your phones were in Memphis.

FDX358 just left headed to Orlando.

FDX303 just left headed to Miami.

FDX768 just left headed to Tampa. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/id/FDX768-1411067674-262-0

Miami is in the lead, Orlando is 2nd, and Tampa is bringing in the rear. Safe travels phones!!

I'm in Minneapolis too. Just checked progress, and at 3:49 pm central time, my iPhone departed FedEx location Memphis. It's on its way!

I'm a couple hours from Minneapolis, our phones are on the same flight. :D

9/18/2014 - Thursday 3:49 pm - Departed FedEx location - MEMPHIS, TN

I still have yet to get a tracking number. Ordered at 4:45 AM EST. Got a 64GB Space Gray 6+. Maybe because I'm using a business account? Says expected delivery date as 10/7 but absolutely nothing else.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

When I talked to the sales rep at my local Verizon store, I explained exactly what I wanted to do. This was probably a stupid move. They explained that if I even transfer an upgrade from a line with unlimited data that I will lose my unlimited data. If I'm understanding you correctly, if you're able to get past this first obstacle, all you would really need to do is switch SIM cards?

I had one rep tell me they weren't 100% sure, but they think I would lose unlimited data, and the other say I definitely would not lose it. Just call them and ask if you're not sure. And then buy the phone on the phone or on the web. Do NOT buy at the store, because they will activate it there.

Verizon's website says:
"You may terminate service for any reason within 14 days of activation. If you purchased a wireless device at a promotional price at the time of activation, you must return it within the device return period to avoid being assessed an Early Termination Fee of $175, or $350 if you purchased an Advanced Device. You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within three days of activation. You will also be responsible for all applicable usage fees, prorated access charges, taxes, surcharges or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date."

which I am taking to mean you can return the phone and cancel the contract it something gets messed up. But again, I would call and make sure.

But if you really cannot lose your unlimited data, it's worth it to just pay the unsubsidized price. I want to keep unlimited, but can deal with going to the Max promotional plan if I have to.

Yes, in my email, I see a SIM and Device ID

That's the Verizon Max Plan I was talking about earlier for folks that are coming off the grandfathered unlimited data on the upgrade.:)
Think we can squeeze more data out of them if we are getting an iPhone 6? Isn't there a 1 GB promotion for the iPhone 6? I also read someone convinced them to use the old 8 GB Max plan, so they got 9 GB total for $30 a month. I would be totally fine losing my unlimited data if I got that deal.

Finally got a tracking number from Fedex after no movement until a charge on my card yesterday.

Ordered around 3:20 am eastern
Order Number: 150***
Location: D771101
6 Plus Silver 128GB

Picked up from West Chester, PA

Says Fedex overnight, hopefully others will get the same action.

Thanks for the replies everyone! So if I'm seeing a SIM ID on my shipping confirmation, this would indicate a new SIM card, right? How do I know if it's a new one or if it's just the number for my current one? When I preordered the phone I selected the option to keep my existing 4G SIM, but I actually do want a new one.
