Just typed a nice long post, hit send, got told I wasn’t logged in, logged back in, post is gone >.< Not a great start to the day.
After my “Edge Up” pre-order, in before the first 30 minutes had passed, I was told delivery on 9/19
Upon receiving my pre-order confirmation email that didn’t arrive until 1:42pm PST, I was told delivery on 10/7
As of this morning my Verizon pre-order status is finally showing up on the website as 10/14
I don’t really believe that as my account’s order history page still only returns an error.
I sort of understand this:
-4 million phones sold in the first 24 hours?
-That’s 166,667 phones an hour
-And 2,778 phones a minute
-Which means that by the time my order was actually in 283,343 phones had sold
-But there are two sizes of phone this year, three colors per size, and three capacities per color, for a total of 18 variations
-Per variation if we just cut the number needed equally, that’s 15,741
But let’s be honest, we all suspected (and now know) that production for the 6 Plus lagged behind the 6, we all know that Space Grey is the most popular color in the West (where the pre-orders were opened), and we all know that the largest capacity is always the least produced.
I just so happened to pre-order an iPhone 6 Plus in Space Grey with 128 GB of storage >.<
So yeah I sort of understand the predicament, and yet I’m not happy about it. As I need to be able to “Edge Up,” I’m wondering if I’ll have any other retail avenues available tomorrow aside from Verizon Wireless? There is one Verizon store I know of, but two local Apple Stores. There’s also Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s Club… Does anyone know if “Edging Up” can be done in any of these other locations?
Thanks!
