My 16GB 6 and 64GB 6+ has been sitting in Newark for the last few days. I live about 90 minutes from Newark so I'm not worried. Can't wait to get my hands on them tomorrow

Thank you.

Not only have I "tracked a package" before, I use UPS daily (literally every day) ... And it's that experience that tells me this doesn't look good.

As you mentioned - We actually have a status of: Still with Verizon but with a UPS label created and, presumably, on the box.

i.e. It's gone nowhere and UPS estimates for it mean nothing right now. (all as you said)

Then you order from places that have early pickups. I routinely get packages that don't show picked up until like 2AM.

Also sometimes it will just show the label and all of a sudden at 6AM its full of 8 different scans and 3 airports. When UPS does iPhones it's like they don't scan until it's at its destination.

Yeah, and to be honest... I am starting to feel like we'd have been better off having been given FedEx... not that I blame UPS, it's still on Verizon to get them the package at this point, but it seems like they're doing a better job distributing to FedEx than they are UPS. I've only seen UPS people in our position so far.

Just got off the phone with Fedex. I am in Ohio and they tell me that they are swamped to moving packages. She told me that they are being moved to either Philly or Pittsburgh, then to Memphis. For mine, its being sent to Cleveland.

Did she say that they'll be delivered on time--tomorrow?

I had Howard too when I called about one of my orders that was randomly cancelled. It was very hard to hear him throughout the entire call.

My issue was entirely different with Howard he made some disparaging remarks to me, told me that because of who I worked for is why I got the ecdp error and told me to sit and wait for 10/14 to get there. This was after having a date of 09/19 until 7:00 Wednesday evening.

He told me and then it was confirmed this morning that when people get pushed to the front of the line (cut the line) they need to move people down in the queue. While I applaud those people for getting back where they may or may not have been in line it ultimately affects the people that went thru the same issue and as per Howard, Supervisor in Internet Sales, Verizon's stance is oh well. This was a recorded call I am waiting for a Associate Director to call back about his

I'd like to post a note of thanks for all this commentary - it helped me with a little hope today. I know many who read this think its all one big co-miseration blog. However, one of the numbers posted in the thread led me to someone willing to listen to me. My 6+ order status got bumped from 10/14 to 10/21 when I checked today and this after an odyssey starting with that darn E__ error on the VZW site at 3AM Eastern folllowed by having to get transferred to multiple agents to fix an issue with my account to get the order through.

The agent put in a bump request to get my phone put on the 10/7 batch. However, I would note that he had to document a lot to put in the request so if anyone is thinking of trying to call for a bump you had better have a story that created an audit trail like my interactions with the reps that morning. Otherwise he said they have really clamped down. I'm guessing given some of the "jump the line" comments here there have been a number of bumps given.

So with that I've got 4 lines as follows:
a Black 6 64gb - due 9/19 but still showing Fedex holding it in Newark
a Silver 6+ 64gb - has a 10/7 date on order status - same as the email
this Grey 6+ 128gb - hopefully bumping to 10/7 - originally 10/14 on the email and currently 10/21 on the status screen
#4 is not from VZ - did pre-order with Best Buy for a Silver 6 with 128gb - I got an email saying I can pick it up tomorrow. (had giftcards to use up and the line wasn't bad as Best Buy did not take 6+ orders)

Hopefully you're right!

That's one possible explanation, and you're correct I've seen that happen.. I've also seen it happen where the lack of scanning means they've simply been given no product yet, just have a label scan. I don't think anyone is saying it's completely impossible, but there is some reason to be concerned I think. if you're counting on it being there tomorrow and you've still got:

"A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."

Could actually mean what it says... shipment hasn't arrived. If you think that's an unfathomable thing, that UPS is reporting the truth, they don't have the shipment I don't really know what to say to you...

This is feeling like a VZW f-up

I called almost every day since last Friday. I can confirm that during one of my last calls after the bump the line request was submitted the rep definitely made comments about how many times I called. So they definitely keep track and honestly I think it helped my cause. The ECPD error was theirs and they righted their wrong. They get $1,100 of my money and I get 2 phones on release day. All is right with the world.

Time to deliver by: 4:30pm so I'm within 24 hours at the latest! UPS normally delivers early to my work so I hope to have it to play with for lunchtime!

its the end of the world if you dont get your phone tomorrow! Defcon 1 !!!

I'm so glad that after all your arrogant comments about me jumping the line I'll be getting both my phones tomorrow. I'll be sleeping a little more sound tonight knowing that.

So, I am a crazy person and I may have found the flight my phone should be on. If I'm right it should be departing Memphis in about 40 minutes. So exciting!

I see you live in GR - any experience getting an iPhone on launch day? I was thinking about the VZW store on the E. Beltline...

Some of the jump the lines were legitimate and deserved. Others were just simply impatient customers who didn't want to wait in line like everyone else is. It's like cutting in the 2 hour long roller coaster line at the amusement park simply due to some people only caring about their need for instant gratification and say screw everyone else they are pushing back a spot.
