I got my phone so yay :) I think the 6 is large. like feels super large but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
 
Yes, I'm sure. It says so right on my tracking information. It's probably a regional thing. Stricter rules for high theft neighborhoods.

Ah I see. That's odd. Well sorry that you missed the Fedex guy. If it makes you feel any better, my Fedex guy probably won't even deliver today. My Note 3 last year didn't arrive on release despite being "Out for delivery". Instead the driver lied and said I wasn't available. It was complete BS as I was outside the entire time, in front of the door reading a light novel.

He never showed up to deliver the phone. So I drove to 3 fedex locations and finally found the location that had my phone.

I picked that **** up and was like thanks for not showing up.
 
Received my iPhone @ 3pm. Picked it up at 5pm after work...
But i am having serious issues with voice quality.. Its disappointing and when i put on speaker, the other party cannot hear me but my voice quality is awesome... Anyone facing the same issues??? :mad::mad::mad:

Yeah, super crappy. I'm pretty pissed right now. Got off the phone with support. They couldn't tell me why, but my delivery date shows to be delivered today. My email and my online order status. But despite this, they said that i'm on the Oct 7th delivery date (even though they can't see it in the system). They told me this only because they don't see my phone in the hands of a shipper...

I've just emailed my acct rep and who knows, maybe they have one on hand to 'fix' problems like this. I hope they can resolve it. Otherwise, I'm going to cancel I think and just be a pissed off, resentful person for a while, hehe. Really though, they could have at least updated my order information to reflect a delivery date in Oct or something so that I wouldn't have had my damn hopes up this whole time. Card was charged, everything said it would be delivered today...no mention of delays on my account. Really disappointed in VZW right now. Had I known this would have happened, I would have cancelled or used another available upgrade to get another iphone this morning...the store is right next to me.

Well, good luck. So much for the, if my card is charged, my phone will ship theory.

My iPhone 6 came today at 5pm in Columbus, Ohio. It was in Newark, NJ, until last night. Then, it took a more circuitous route than usual for FedEx to reach a delivery truck at 7am. FedEx told me earlier this afternoon that delivery might not happen until 9 pm, so I'm happy. Getting ready to set it up.
 
I had FedEx delivery scheduled for today. Because I would be at work I tried to leave a signed and dated note so the driver would leave the phone for the indirect signature. As others have noted here, it's up to the driver and of course my driver did not leave the phone. I can live with it. But what annoys me is I just thought I would go to the FedEx distribution facility tomorrow since they are open and pick up the phone as I have done with many other shipments. But no go. Verizon will not allow pick ups, even after the first delivery attempt FedEx tells me so I have to wait until Monday. Again, I will live, I'm just annoyed because I probably could have had the phone today by reserving at an Apple store.
 
Walked into the new Verizon store in Anchorage and picked up a 6+ "64GB" in SpaceGrey (we didn't have Verizon stores until TODAY). Cancelled my online preorder which wasn't going to be here until 10/7. Upgraded from an iPhone 5 so the size of the 6+ will take some getting use to, but I think I'll like it. As for the look, construction and speed - it's AWESOME!!!

They opened at 8AM. I showed up at 930AM, was given #79 in line, but they were already on #50something. The wait, transaction time and lunch next door after took around 3 hours. I really expected it to be busier.

Verizon also launched their new network here in Alaska today so lots of "suits" walking around, chatting people up, etc. They claim that they received more stock than most stores in the lower 48, but who knows how true that is...

It might be true. When I preordered the iPhone 4S back in 2011 and the iPad Mini in 2012 it shipped from China via UPS something international, they went through Anchorage to get to the lower 48. It would make sense that Alaska would have a lot since everything Apple passes through there.

Ended up canceling my preorder with 10/3 date and went into Verizon store. I ended up with a iPhone 6 64gb. All 6 plus were sold out and all 16gb 6's were sold out.

Well a little update... my verizon order status says "UPS Next Day Air-3pm". I just received an email update from UPS that says "by the end of the day".

UPS typically delivers around 3pm in my neighborhood, but all bets are off tomorrow with the expected increased in delivery traffic for them.

Either way, I am relieved my order is complete!

I've been with Verizon for 15 years now, and Never had any issues with them. their not cheap. but they are the best. Welcome to Verizon country :apple:

Its highly likely you havent had any issues with your electronic device or their network. Which means you havent had to actually CALL them. Their service is among the poorest across the country which national complaint data supports.
They are like most large corporations where they excel at about 60% of what they do. As soon as you have an issue, or a one off, something that engages the other 40% of what they do... the wheels come completely off the train and they fail miserably. just my experience.
 
Final update for this thread. Having tried both new models at a Verizon store earlier, I realized that some of the people predicting high return rates on the Plus might be right. Thought about what to do until about noon, went to another Verizon store (was on the other side of the city by then) and they cancelled my Plus order for me (was still showing shipment at 10/10, still no CC charge), and now I've got exactly what I want: iPhone 6 Space Grey 128gb :)

To all those whose Plus orders aren't shipped out yet (the vast majority), I highly recommend you go into a store and play with both sizes. I suspect some of you, like me, will decide 6 is actually the size you'll want, so you'll be saved the frustration of the long wait and a potential return. Good luck everyone!

I don't know if this is universally true, but I'm in my state's biggest city and both Verizon stores I went to had ample 6 supplies, there wasn't any considerably longer wait, and when I went to the Apple store at about 1:00pm, about 2 hours ago, to buy a case / screen protector and Apple Care, they had what looked like TONS of stock behind the Genius Bar. I was told twice, at different locations that the Plus supplies are so low in part as they were thinking of announcing that model in October, but then decided they didn't want the backlash something like that might create.

Truly though, my iPhone 6 is just about restored from iTunes now, and I love it! You will too, once you have yours, whether you end up choosing the 6 or the Plus!
