Just ordered my 64GB iPhone 6 Plus. I wasn't going to but I said **** it and placed my order. :D It arrives 11.10.14. I can wait.

I am not optimistic about that, but hope so too!!
My date went from 10/7 to 10/3 this morning as well. At least it is moving the right direction! :)

Mine did the same thing! Ugh the suspense is killing me! I may just call the local VZW store and see if they have any in stock

Number eligibility swap problems

I have upgraded twice as new iPhones became available. I have 3 numbers and kept one number just to always have an eligibility available. One number has a smart phone data plan for a 5S. So, this time I called Verizon and confirmed I could do a number to number transfer of eligibility as I have in the past. Great.
So, I ordered and got my new iPhone 6 on 9/19/14. I called Verizon to do the number swap. No problem, BUT the number with eligibility would be assigned a smart phone data plan in addition to the existing number with a data plan. Something I do not want or need. This is a new policy as of August 24, 2014. Surprise!

I do not want to go to the EDGE plan. My only move is to send back my new iPhone 6 and cancel the whole transaction. No amount of explaining would get Verizon to treat me as they have in the past. Nice move three weeks prior to the big introduction. So, I will return the phone, cancel the spare number, and dump Verizon for ATT, when the dust settles. You can only screw your customers so far before they slip from Verizon's grasp.

My situation may be of some use to others.

I just checked my Apple Store for in store pickup and they have almost every model available. They only allow you to add one line per order so I ordered a 6 Plus 16GB Gold. I originally ordered 3 of these iPhones with VZW with a ship date of 10/10 which was bumped from 10/14.

BTW I'm in Sacramento, CA and the Roseville store has some.

I ordered an iPhone 6 Gold 64GB on 9/19 (yesterday) at around 11am, and the expected ship date is 9/20/14, does that mean I will get it today or Monday. The one I got on 9/19 had an expected ship date of 9/19, so it was delivery on the day, anyone know how it works with VZW?

I want to return my 6 I got yesterday will Verizon give me my money back tomorrow. I bought it at the Verizon corporate store

I preordered at midnight and got a 10/14 shipping date so today I went to Sam's Club and they happened to have 8 iPhone 6 Pluses in stock (in the size that I wanted) so I consider myself pretty lucky that I don't have to wait a month. :)

That is great you got what you wanted. I think it is terrble business to let people preorder, give them a delivery date months away, and then have phones in stock at the store now.

For those in the new orleans area trying to buy an iphone 6 not the plus model. Try apple.com. I woke up today and the 6 is available for in store pickup. I called Verizon, and cancelled my preorder with them. And scheduled in store pick up for an iphone 6 64gb silver. So later today i should be walking around with a new iphone.

Apple has already sold the phone to the retailer at that point. Hard to turn down an order for 100K phones, cash in hand. They do what they can.

iPhone 6+ is just amazing. Seriously can't get over how awesome this phone is. The screen is absolutely beautiful. All those who ordered it, are going to love it #

How is it to fit in your pocket? I looked at it in the store last night and it is Huge, not getting mine till 10/10 as of right now.

I was on the fence but now think Apple just grossly underestimated demand for 6+. This aligns with their history if dragging their feet into a bigger screen. Ordered 6+ by 3:18am EDT and won't get my 6+ until the 10th now. Just irdered a 6 for my wife and will walk into Apple Store later to pick up. Wow.

There were a lot of rumors of production delays on the plus and some speculation that it would not release on the 19th.

I heard another big issue was scalpers...

I wish something could be done about all the scalpers. From all that I have been reading, it sounds like they were able to get a lot of phone that would have otherwise made it into the hands of legitimate end-users.

Yes this is true, I have stated this in at least 2 posts, but people just seem to ignore it. ALSO verizon is starting to sent out emails /texts to people with unlimited that go over 2.5GB a month (they claim only to high data users but I found a thread where someone went over 2.5 and received the letter!!), and in the letter it states they will be throttled back to sloooooowwwww speeds for 2 months!!! I have a friend that uses 10-20 GB a month and still has not received this letter yet.

I switched to the more everything plan with 4 GB
I have 2 dumb phones and 2 data smart phones and us 2 data phones do not go over 4 GB combined.

Now what they don't tell you in the new plan is

1. right now to september 30th, every data phone you buy will get a promotional 1GB a month for 2 years added to your bucket (no matter what data plan you have), even if you pre order, I will have 6GB total for 2 years and pay for 4 GB as I have now a new iphone 6 and a 6+ on order. THIS MIGHT BE verizon purchase only and nowhere else, I have not verified!!

2. IF ANY of your data phones (not dumb phones) 2 year contracts are up, you get a $10 credit per month, ONLY if you log into your account and turn that feature on!!!! I just did it myself on my current phone, but when my 6+ comes in I lose this unless I wait another month and use a dumb phone upgrade coming up in November, but if the 1GB extra promo goes away then I loose that. BUT if I transfer a dumb phone upgrade to my line and upgrade THEN I can keep my $10 deduction, as long as I (any data / smart phone) has an upgrade device pending on your account you can get the $10 deduction.

edit to #2 $10 credit for any data plan under 10 GB a month and a $25 credit for any data plan 10 GB or more per the smartphone line eligible for an upgrade!! (does not apply to any dumb phone's)
