I think you are looking at the upgrade price? The cheapest model without the upgrade is $649 I thought, and that is for the 6 16gb.
Just ordered with a 10/31 ship date for the 6plus gold 64. I know I'm late to the party but I wanted to try them both out in the store. I'm still torn but I can always cancel the order and buy one in the store. Choices are wonderful!
I got shafted during the pre-order even though I ordered on time. I even got bamboozled at the Verizon store after waiting for four hours, and being third in line. At 8am we were all told that Apple sent them absolutely no iPhone 6 Pluses. Wonderful news right. After all this BS, I was lucky enough to snag a white/silver 64GB Plus at the Apple store today. Definitely not going through Verizon again for iPhone purchases.

I ordered from the Verizon website an iPhone 6 Plus 64GB White about 5 minutes after midnight on the day pre-orders opened and mine was delivered on launch day by Fedex. It was in the hands of Fedex for "future delivery" around mid-week and they delivered it as they were supposed to on Friday. I am loving the iPhone and the size is perfect.

Ordered 6+ 128 gig space gray at 3:10 am on the the 12th. Order said delivery for 9/19 When I woke up there was the confirmation email saying "by 10/7". Checking now and it says shipping 10/10. Whats going on here? Is it a shortage issue? Been reading other people on here having their date be moved up..is there a chance mine will as well? Keep checking the apple store online for in-store pickup and its not available at any store in the Boston area. If, somehow, I find it in a different store..I know I have to call verizon to cancel the order first...is it instant that the upgrade is available while I am at the store?

I was able to edge my iPhone 6 plus 64GB space gray and iPhone 6 64GB silver on edge via Verizon website successful on 12th launch date all online.
So just for future reference... If I have an upgrade available with Verizon can I go to an apple store and buy an iPhone for contract price or can that only be done through Verizon? I think this is bs how people can go into an apple store today and just buy an iPhone where as I pre-ordered through Verizon and still don't have one in my hands. I should have never pre-ordered and just walked into an apple store and picked one up. Either that or pre-order with Apple and not Verizon (assuming apple honors carrier upgrade eligibility)
Same here, but the person asked about buying through Apple. Only way to get EDGE through Apple is in store.
Correct Apple it just in store not online which sucks.
Or i would have order from apple site then going to Verizon
but in the end i order 3:45 am on 12th and was able to get both iPhone
on the 19th via Fedex iPhone 6 and UPS iPhone 6 plus
My iPhone 6 plus 64gb was an edge up from a iPhone 5c lol
So i had only choice to go thru Verizon

their all gone in Cali now. I was toying drive to Palm Spring for one, then thought better of it because the cost of the gas to get there and back would negate the it.

Yes I did! I meant to say thanks but I've been so busy lately that it slipped my mind. I was in San Diego for business so I didn't have the opportunity to go that way but I did tell a friend about it so hopefully she got her 6+ at the FVM. THANK AGAIN!!

Right, I knew it wasn't for Edge -- I was just specifying that "new 2yr activation req'd" includes not only brand new lines to an account, but also those of us who are have contracts that expired and are upgrading with a new 2yr contract outside of Edge.
