Poor October Friends...

On behalf of all of those October delivery date people represented, I would just like to say that I sure hope those delivery dates start moving up in light of the influx of people that have cancelled their pre-orders in favor of an in-store experience over the last few days. (Not to mention those who have forsaken the 6+ because it was "too big." I'm waiting on a 6+ 64GB Space Grey.)

I spoke with the General Manager of our local Verizon store yesterday, as they were selling their last iPhone 6 for the day (completely out of stock for ALL MODELS), and he said that he was confident that those October dates would be pushed up. I told him that mine is currently 10/3 and he shook his head and said, "No, you'll be getting it before then." Here's hoping he knows what he's talking about.
 
for those who said there date was pushed up? where do you check and see what your ship date is through verizon? all i see is your order is processing and shipping date will be available soon..
 
I only got my ship date on Thursday and I preordered on the 12th at 630 am. Just to put that in perspective.

I sure hope our 10/3 dates get moved up! At least a day or two would be nice, as 10/3 is a Friday, therefore would not arrive until Monday. It would be great if they had them in our hands before that weekend.

Mine was pushed up 4 days. I expect it to be pushed up another week by the time it's all said and done.
 
Its highly likely you havent had any issues with your electronic device or their network. Which means you havent had to actually CALL them. Their service is among the poorest across the country which national complaint data supports.

They are like most large corporations where they excel at about 60% of what they do. As soon as you have an issue, or a one off, something that engages the other 40% of what they do... the wheels come completely off the train and they fail miserably. just my experience.


I've had my line for 15 years, can't recall if it started under a different company when I bought it. I've made plenty of support calls and every time they have been friendly, helpful and resolved the issue.

That isn't to say everyone will have the same experience. It always depends on who you get when you call. I've had great support experiences even with Comcast who is always in the news for crappy support.
 
anyone who canceled their VZ preorder and got one in store...how long does that take? i got a phone reserved in jersey for pickup today....just need to make sure they can cancel the verizon preorder in store.
 
If a Friday delivery is missed, unless specifically paid for by shipper, the next delivery attemp is Monday.

Ugh. You're right. I just assumed.

I'll see if I can find out where the package is now, so I can just pick it up myself. I'm not keen on them leaving it on the porch since we've (our neighborhood) had a number of thefts lately.

Thank you so much for the post Tallgirl. I got pushed from 10/7 to 10/3 yesterday, but figured after work I'd stop at a few local spots and try for one. I went to go to the Apple store just to compare the sizes and be able to hold the Plus in my hand to see if it's too big or not ( I preordered the 64GB 6+ SG) and there were still a hundred people waiting in line OUTSIDE of the store at 5am! I'm assuming they were all the people who elected for in store pickup and just got off work. So from there I called a few Verizon stores and all three said they had NO Pluses and that they only got 16GB versions of the Plus. I tried Radioshack because the two around me are also Verizon dealers, and they said they received NO Pluses and only 16GB versions of the regular 6. So then I went to my local Target and spoke with the electronics guy who was a HUGE help. Gave me each a 6 and 6+ to hold and determine size, said they only received 16GB versions of each. And as bad as I wanted to just take that 6+ right then and there, I knew I needed the 64GB because the 16GB is just not enough space for me for work purposes and also after that last iOS8 update caused me to delete a ton of stuff. So Josh from Target took down my info, said nobody else had inquired about a 64GB 6+ and I was the first in line now for when they start coming in. Said they should be in way before my date of 10/3 and to try calling tomorrow. So that's my launch day story haha. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting like me. It's not a big deal, I'm kinda diggin it because I can make sure I made the right choice. Congratulations to all who received their's yesterday and continue to receive them in the coming weeks. My brother received his 16GB 6 yesterday and it looks beautiful. The irony of that is that I ordered his AFTER ordering mine haha.

The guy at my Verizon store said to me:
"You will get it next week. Promise."
 
The Apple stores in the bay area received a shipment of 6 plus devices. At 3am you could still reserve many configurations for pickup in store

For those in large metro areas you might want to check tonight in your area
 
Ugh. Called the 800 number for FedEx Express. Apparently Verizon didn't OK the package to be held for pick up. So now the only way for me to get it is to let FedEx just leave it on my porch while I'm at work. Ugh.
 
I took off of work to wait for my iPhone 6 Plus 64gb. So this is what happened:

I left a note to call me on the door for FedEx. I'm waiting all morning, and finally at 11am I see it gets on the truck. I'm napping with the ringer of my 5S all the way up. It gets to be like 6pm and I'm like where the heck are they. I check my phone and I have a missed call. I tried to call back, but no answer. I see a tag on my door.. :mad:

Oh no, I missed them. This is the betrayel of the ages! :rolleyes: I check my phone again and see a voicemail. The delivery guy left it with the neighbors. Thankfully I know my neighbors and they were able to give it to me. Was so excited. The Apple Store in Honolulu had tons of cases so I was able to get a case and screen protector as well. :cool:

Do you mean as in ordering from apple.com or just calling them and asking to reserve one? Thanks
 
Same thing. Ordered same phone at 4:45 AM EST. only confirmation email, set with date of 10/7. Wish i could get more info. I know there are other people that did it through their company account with the same problem. What I wanna know is why it affects us like this. Really irritating. all i want is my iPhone!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

i got literally the exact same problem here too guys been going nuts for days trying to figure it out have you come across any helpful information yet on how to legitimately track your order
 
I saw the apple store r thread had preorders for October start shopping for the plus. Hopefully verizon gets a big order and can fulfill or orders early! I have a 6+ 16gb space gray worth a 10/10 ship date
