VZW Order Status Thread

I ordered a 64GB Space Gray and it has a ship date of 10/17 ... maybe gold isn't as popular? Like i said ordered 2 in one day, Gold -- 9/20 and as i just said gray 10/17
 
Possibly switching to vzw. What is the current situation for order thru the website? All 3 apple stores show on hand availability for the iPhone 6 16gb SG and have since launch day but you are required to get a more everything plan instead of single line which is a better deal. Any idea of an order placed currently as far as ETA?

You can easily check on Verizon's website.

Late October. Also you can get the more everything plan then change it to a single line plan, at least that's what a Verizon rep told me but I would double check.

I did check, but I raise the point of all 3 Apple stores near me having every variant of the 6 in stock for vzw as a point that the ship dates might not be accurate.
 
best buy method?

I literally called 28 VZW stores in a 75 mile radius to see if anyone had phones in stock. The only ones available were Gold 128 gb and even those were few and far between. So here I wait for 10/3 ship date.

A question though. My husband and I still have unlimited data on our plans. buying these phones at the upgrade rate will make us lose the unlimited and be forced into the VZW Max 6gb plan (each line). We are trying to get around losing the unlimited data and read something about the "best buy" method. Has anyone used this and it WORKED?! I know there is a way you can swap the sim cards, but I'm the only one with a sim card, since I have a 5 and hubs still rocks the 4

Just wanted to share my experience. For some it was better to make line than ordering online.

They started at 11:55, my order was done for a Gold 128GB Plus at 11:57pm and it arrived 9/19. I was hitting refresh from 11:45 (when the first put the iphone 6 on the page for pre-order and when you hit the link it said come back at 12:01) i kept hitting refresh and it opened at 11:55 not 11:50.

All loopholes are now closed. 8/24 Verizon closed the last of them. Any device ordered at a subsidized contract rate must have a tiered data plan for the life of the contract. Verizon tracks that by device IEMI ordered against the account, swapping SIMs won't help either.

That's not true. 8/24 Verizon closed the basic line upgrade method.

I don't know for sure, but I'm assuming the Best Buy method still works. You would just need to go Verizon, tell them that your husband got a new phone and needs a nano sim card before the Best Buy phone is delivered.

On slickdeals there actually seems to be an Apple store way around it. So I would check that method out too.

I got 2 accounts. one has 7 lines all Shared Data plan, the other has 3 lines all unlimited data. So I use one of the 7-lines account contracts and move it to the 3 line account. As long as its on SHARED data you are okay.

Verizon just let me upgrade a line, 4 months early than immediately convert it to a tablet line ($10 a month). Then they let me upgrade a line that wasn't due until June 2015, and I was able to get 2 more iPhones for family members.

Is this true? Can anyone confirm this? If this was the case then you could buy a subsided phone someone bought and is now selling on eBay and fall into the same problem?

No not at all, because that phone was not ordered against your line/account. That part of it is no different than it ever was.

I ordered a 64 GB 6 SG on the 12th @ 11 PM as a new customer and my estimated shipping time went from 10/14 to 10/10. You have to do a credit check on the VZW site. I couldn't get the process to work on Apples as it kept timing out.

I'm only providing what was told to me from people who should know. Verizon very much knows these things are going on. Unlimited Data is dead. October 1 it will be throttled on congested towers burying it further. It's a losing battle ultimately. If you're not under contract with it, they can nix it tomorrow without recourse.
 
Anyone know the trick to get my VZW 6+ earlier than 10/17, which is when my preorder is supposed to ship? If I can get them from the store, I'll cancel the preorder.
