Edge has always been that way. You have to turn in a phone to start on the program.

And don't call Verizon and ask about the memo. It'll only bog them down further.


From what I was told, that's if you join edge after 1yr into your 2yr contract.

I finished my 2yr and switched to edge when I was eligible for a Upgrade.

Also, doing it this way is no different then If I walked in as a new customer and signed up for edge for the first time. They can't ask for the customers prior phone just to start edge.

Who is eligible for Verizon Edge?
To be eligible for Verizon Edge, your device must be eligible for an upgrade and:

Existing customers of 7+ months must have a good payment history with us during the prior six months.
New and existing customers of 6 months or less must pass a credit check.
You must have a postpaid service agreement with Verizon Wireless.


For a limited time, existing customers who are within 12 months of their upgrade eligibility date can trade in their old devices and use Verizon Edge to enjoy the benefits of a new 4G LTE device. This offer is available 7/1/14 - 7/31/14. To be eligible for this offer, you must:

Be eligible for Verizon Edge
Be within 12 months of upgrade eligibility date
Upgrade to a new 4G LTE Verizon device
Have an active postpaid service agreement (prepaid accounts currently not eligible for Edge)
Return your current device that was active on the upgrading line as of start of promotion (07/01/14) or authorized replacement (e.g. CLNR, Insurance) in good working condition

Interesting! You may be correct. When I started I was not at the end of my 2-year contract yet. Good catch!
 
Anyone else's say:"We received your order and it is in process. Payment not taken yet."????

Ordered at 3:08AM ET, confirmation email at 4:38AM ET. Email said Delivers by 9/19. Earlier, order status said 9/19, now blank.

Update: Just got an email from Verizon that my order was on hold, called and they said card didn't go through... I got a fraud alert earlier but confirmed it... Anyway, rep took the card info again and ran it, said it went through. Said my place in line was kept. Hope I'm good!

Update 2: Card now showing pending charge!

Make sure not to try if the order is delayed :D
 
Ordered an iPhone 6, 64GB Space Grey around 7 or 8 AM EST, and they said I would get it on or before 9/19. No tracking number yet though. Done with Verizon if I don't get it on Friday.

I keep seeing posts about people freaking out that the status update hasn't changed on the Verizon website.....that means nothing. If you received an email confirmation, whatever date is on there is the date you will get your phone or earlier. Most people will likely not have their CC charged until either Tuesday or Wednesday.

A lot of us "Pre Order Veterans" go through this every time. I've gone through countless phone releases and it's always been the same thing.....refer to the email confirmation.

Ill explain it again, the Verizon Iconic order site is not up to date. While some people will receive the updated info, most people won't see it updated until the day your device ships. The reason? the iconic system lags. All preorder confirmations are tied to an actually number Verizon knows they will have by 9/18/14. Until they tie your order with a specific device number, the Iconic system will not update. That's why most won't see it update until the day before it ships. Those on the East coast usually get the last updates. As they are usually longer shipping times to the East Coast warehouses. Some already have tracking numbers on the east coast but that should increase as more shipments are delivered to the warehouses.

I've never been screwed by Verizon.....Now AT&T.....that's a different story. I don't want to go through the fiasco i had when I got the iPhone 3GS....


Yeah, this is likely completely true and the rest of us are just perseverating (myself included). I've never been screwed by Verizon either and I've preordered everything I could since the iPhone 4.

In all fairness, Verizon seems to be the best preorder experience short of ordering directly from Apple.
 
Everyone that ordered a phone will get one. I never understood the reason people get bent out of shape if they didn't get it on release day. There are much worse things in life. Be happy that you have your health, family and friends. You'll get your phone.
 
I'm wondering if I should cancel my order and try going into verizon launch day to get a 64gb iphone 6 or a iphone 6+. I ordered a 16gb iphone 6. Choices choices! I just want to make sure I'll be able to get either one on launch day!
 
Even though I ordered 6:00 pm Friday (9/12) my status still says they have received my order and it is in process. There are no charges, pending or otherwise, on my cc. Should I call and check?

This. There is a reason Verizon is the best carrier experience in the country. I fortunately get to work hand in hand with Verizon. My company makes and installs all the equipment Verizon uses at their switches and cell sites across 90% of the country.

These people that say you will get it on 9/19 amaze me. No one knows for certain until it ships/arrives. Basing things on past experiences doesn't guarantee the same thing for this, seriously people.

That's correct. The only time you have to turn in your phone (if you're still on a 2yr contract) is if you do an "early edge" upgrade. Meaning you Edge up before your 2yr contract is officially up. Once your contract is up and you decide to Edge up, you don't have to turn the phone in. Why? B/c you've fulfilled your 2yr agreement and the phone is now yours.

Give your CC company a call. If they are anything like my bank, they may be flagging all iPhone orders for potential fraud investigation.

I wouldn't cancel the order, go to the store see if they have what you want. Tell them you want it, let them cancel it for you and then get the one there.
 
I was late to order....4:35am PST with a ship date of 10/14. =[ Nothings changed for me so I do believe these confirmation dates are correct.
