link? Can see just 1 jpg here. Nothing official from intel.
probably just search for "haswell mobile release quad core" on google

But those dual core U series 28W CPUs certainly look like a better option than those 37W ones. Didn't see any price for the 37W ones though, they don't seem up on Intel's site yet. But of course, the quad core 37W would be the redeemer.
It's official. Not sure if its on the intel site yet, but anandtech and arstechnica have just reported on it.

That single 28W chip has much lower CPU frequency than the dual 37W chips and is likely to be more expensive as well.
You must have missed the post a few above yours. There are a whole heap of dual core i5 and i7 37w mobile chips just announced
which means the 13" retina will still be running on a HD4600...what a joke.
Can anyone translate this into human language? Which ones will be used in the rMBPs?
My guess is the i5-4300M (Dual 2.6GHz) for the base MBPr 13" and i7-4600M (Dual 2.9Ghz) for the high end model. So expect approx 10% increase in CPU performance and 30% in GPU performance (from HD4000 to HD4600) from Ivy Bridge.
There's an outside chance of it getting the i7-4702MQ (quad 2.2ghz), but then again there was a 35W Quad Core Ivy Bridge chip as well and Apple never used it.
the question is what will they do with the MBAs...if they put there CPUs in with HD5000, they CAN'T put HD4600s in the Retina or am i wrong? This will never happen imo.
It would be odd if the 13 inch MBA had better graphics than the 13 inch rMBP... I agree.
I felt there's a lot of things that is wrong with the Intel lineup, they put weak IGP in low end processors and high performance IGP in high end processors.
if you have a high end processor laptop, it is almost certain that it will come with a decent / high end GPU as well hence rendering the GT3e useless.
IMO it is the low end processors that need a good performance IGP to come along with it.
Well there are a lot low end CPUs with GT3.

I think the graphics will be similar. Remember the HD5000 in the ULV chip is clocked very low.
The slides here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7021/introducing-the-dualcore-haswell-skus
show that in the ULV HD5000 is up to 50% faster than the ULV HD4000.
It has been suggest that the HD4600 is around 30% faster than the HD4000 in standard voltage chips.
And we also know that the Standard voltage HD4000 is around 20% faster than the ULV HD4000.
So from all that extrapolation .. my rough guess is that GPU performance between the Standard voltage HD4600 and ULV HD5000 will be similar while the standard voltage chips will have much higher CPU performance.
Still for the common person HD5000 > HD4600. People will see the numbers and wonder why the MBA got a better graphics processor than the rMBP (13 inch).
Quite possible, but Intel isn't releasing any Standard voltage dual core chips with HD5000, so Apple has no choice.
Not possible to fit an Nvidia card into the rMBP 13 inch?

They have more choices then ever. With IvyBridge there where only 17W and 35W CPUs. Haswell has 15/28/37W. 28W with Iris HD5100 would fit perfect for the rMBP.
And I'm pretty sure that ULV HD5000 is much better then the LV HD4600 because it has double the execution units.
Is the 28 w a ulv or normal processor?

Where did you get a base frequency of 2.4Ghz? I thought it was closer to 1.6Ghz, although I don't see any specs for it released yet except for the name and TDP.
Double the execution unit but with half the frequency when running games. I doubt it will be any faster.

The i7-4558U even have a base frequency of 2.8 GHz.
It seems Intel is updating their site now... I see new CPUs every hour, it seems.
I see it now. Looks like there's a good possibilty that Apple might be using these chips for the 13" MBPr.
Good GPU performance increase with only a small CPU decrease compared to the standard voltage 37W dual core chips.
Just saw the price of the CPU $454 for the i7-4558U .. these 28W chips won't be cheap.
Yep, but the 28W i5 ones are much cheaper.
