ipod touch < iphone but still it has "retina" display
so
macbook air < macbook pro but both should have "retina" for sells

for example 13"macbook air retina with 4gb ram, dual core i5 or i7 at 2ghz, hd 4600 and 13" retina macbook pro with 8 gb ram, dual core i5,i7 with 2.4 ghz and above and hd 5000(for i7 cpu)...i think is reasonable

----------

i think for 1000% a macbook air 11" with retina...will have a such an impact for those who want portability and a desktop OS

ipod touch is cheaper than iphone.....by half the price, and the only major difference is that ipod touch can't make calls and 3G.

given that if rMBA and rMBP is the same price with different specs ( just like MBA and MBP ) as mentioned by you, you would still go for the air?
i found it a little bit absurd given the only advantage you would get over the rMBP is a measly 300grams of weight, thats three cans of coke.

1099$ 13" MBA retina
1499$ 13" MBP retina more RAM, better cpu, better integrated graphics

and the price is not the same

sorry, i assume that when you wrote "improved display" you mean retina macbook air.

personally i don't see any miniscule resolution upgrade, either its 1280 or 2560 for MBP 13" and 1400(? CMIIW) for MBA

----------

So you reckon a 4-8 week wait for the new Haswell rMBPs is likely?

ummmm...... I can't wait that long.

go to engadget or the verge, then look for haswell laptops (acer, dell, etc etc) that have the earliest shipping date. there you got your benchmark

Ming chi kou did say we might be waiting a little while because of display supplements but not that long hopefully. He's very accurate so it might not ship on day one. However Acer, Dell, etc have always not released their product day one and always wait a while before they release their products where as Apple ship it as fast as possible after announcement. :)

So we've heard rumours about the 13 inch getting slimmer and the new chip.

Have we heard anything re the 15inch? Only thing nailed on is having Haswell. Anything else that's been mentioned?

Yeah! I've eagerly awaiting the Haswell rMBP 15" :D

Just sold my 2011 iMac today, so I'm stuck with my 2008 MBP (with SSD though) until I get my hands on the Haswell rMBP.

One week!!!!

Hi jafingi, where did you sell your iMac? I'm trying to sell my MacBook Pro (2012), any ideas on where is best to sell it?

Sold it on the Danish DBA.dk (eBay owns it). It's like the yellow pages. But I would sell on eBay or Craigslist if I were you.

Am I the only one suspecting we'll see 15" rMBP Haswells first, and the 13" rMBP Haswells will follow suit later this year?

The parts announced so far points to this, given only the quads are coming out first. The 13" rMBPs also came out later last year, so I suspect they'll get refreshed when the new dual-core Haswells come.

Not sure what will happen to the cMBPs, they might go the way of the dinosaur?

I'd think they would release them at the same time, the first release of the retina macbook was quite substantial so they could afford to release one of them as a biggie, now they're not quite as substantial so I think they'd release them both.

Unless...the 13" rmbp uses a quad core with iris graphics. I mean..the thing has 2 fans instead of one like the cmbp. The rmbp was definitely designed to handle more heat.

they have to take into account the battery consumption as well.
IMO the 13" rMBP doesn't seem like a laptop that is catered for professionals, but rather the "ooh i got a retina screen" type of consumer, doesn't seem like there is a need for quads until it the TDP is low enough to match the dual cores.

Well, if they indeed will update the 13'' retina MBP, what CPUs will they use? The Haswell dual core CPUs (normal voltage) are launched later, according to our information so far. Will they still use Ivy Bridge? Or go for Haswell quad core, after all?

Lower TDP quad or just get the duals earlier than other companies. It's Apple.
