Someone thinks there is any chances we'll see new Haswell MBP the next Tuesday? My heart tells me there is some chances but my brain says they will be released on October... What do you think? I mean has been never happened Apple releases new Macbook before the release of new OS X?

If we don't seem them on Tuesday, then October likely, or in the winter.

Apple won't announce anything. They will "present" new MBP's and ship that very same day. Hard to believe this will happen in 2 days.

I remember when I was waiting for the arrandale processors back in Spring 2010. Everyone was waiting months and months, then one day Apple just updated them. No keynote, no nothing. Just updated the site. Hopefully they'll do the same now.

It should be amazing see Apple On-Line Store returning with new Macbook Pro even if they will not showed during the keynote

I can see a silent refresh, but it would be interesting that the upgrades would be nearly the same as the Air, which did get presented.

I'd say an IGZO screen is one of the few things that would warrant a presentation.

But then again wasn't the silent refresh last Feb? I guess it doesn't have to really alternate.

IGZO could be at ready for mass production, as both Dell and Lenovo are releasing laptops with IGZO displays. But that does contradict that report I linked, although your are supposed to take these reports with a grain of salt.

WOW.....2014??? Is it that hard for Sharp to mass produce these displays? So if they refresh the rMBPs in Oct, they are going to turnaround and refresh them again in Q1 of 2014 by redesigning them? I hope thats not the case

I really hope it's wrong and this generation gets IGZO. It seems feasible.

I hope its wrong too, then again, Apple seems to get what they want, when they want it :D

Anyone coming away happy after the Sep. 10 event even if no new rMBPs are introduced? As in, any Haswell rMBP buyers going to be purchasing a new iPhone?

I have a 5, and I only get interested in buying the "tock" models.. I'm still excited for the 5S though

and I guess if nothing's announced it hopefully increases the likelihood of something more worth waiting for

I am not, still very happy with my Iphone 4.

Edit: Siri is not an innovation for me. Fingerprint is probably as usable as Thunderbolt...

yea, I got the 4s because retina was a big jump. the 5s is probably a lot faster than my 4s, but im going to wait one more year for the larger screen. I am dissapointed apple has lagged behind in this regard because in every other area the iphone is far better than any other phone IMHO.

AH! You definitely have a point there with USB 3.0...they took their sweet time on that one.

But not with thunderbolt. They probably thought that thunderbolt would have caught on more then it has, and that thunderbolt could have been the next USB, which would render USB 3.0 redundant. And they would have eventually taken out USB like they took out HDDs and disk drives.

The first laptops with USB 3.0 shipped in 2011. Apple and Dell first shipped laptops with USB 3.0 in 2012.

I have a 2011 MBA. I'm not bothered by it having USB 2.0 (rather than USB 3.0) ports. I still give Apple credit (with Intel) for adopting USB 1.0 and killing the keyboard, mouse, serial, and parallel ports. It took the PeeCee makers about ten years to drop those legacy ports after Apple already had.

Speaking of TB, I think I have used it once in the last 2 years I have had this MBP. I am shocked that Western Digital has not made portable TB HD devices, they are all over USB 3.0 and I bet are in the process of upgrading to USB 3.1. If Apple releases TB2 with the rMBPs, they need to start a line of portable HDs....just saying, give us a reason to use the damn thing (other than for adapters for firewire and ethernet), lol

Wow, less then 48 hours until the September 10th event.

Yeah, or at least Apple thunderbolt hard drive enclosures
