Speaking of TB, I think I have used it once in the last 2 years I have had this MBP. I am shocked that Western Digital has not made portable TB HD devices, they are all over USB 3.0 and I bet are in the process of upgrading to USB 3.1. If Apple releases TB2 with the rMBPs, they need to start a line of portable HDs....just saying, give us a reason to use the damn thing (other than for adapters for firewire and ethernet), lol

Maybe worth taking a look at Buffalo drives, if you like other brands. The LaCie rugged one is HIDEOUS.

Wow, less then 48 hours until the September 10th event.

Yay! Get off work at 12:15 PM on Tuesday, go home and watch the 1 PM event. Excited!

As for my interest in the iPhones, I am definitely interested in purchasing one. I don't have an iPhone, but I finally have an upgrade. I may or may not purchase one right away, though. Depends on if they entice me enough. But either the 5S or 5C at some point.

I definitely want a rMBP ASAP.

I was disappointed that the new Airport Extreme and Time Capsule include neither a Thunderbolt Port nor a USB 3.0 port. There is only a USB 2.0 port.

The hard drive in one of my Time Capsules has died. I'm debating whether to buy another hard drive to install or buy a new Time Capsule or buy an external RAID box. The idea of an external raid box connected via USB 2.0 does not appeal to me.

I, on the other hand, would still use TB/TB2 everyday, even without storage issues or lots of third party "stuff." I currently run my MBP to a desktop monitor via miniDP, and I'm planning on shifting to a TB display (hopefully an updated version with TB2) with the Haswell MBP.

While it would be nice to see more "stuff" out there by now, I'm not really worried about the Betamax issue vis-a-vis USB because I'm expecting the market to pick up after the iTrashCan is released and the number of TB-equipped Macs grows to a "can't afford to ignore it" point.

The Time Capsule that died, was that one of the newly released models? Im debating on purchasing a new TC due to all the stories of the HDD crashing.

Lucky! I'll have to watch it once I get home. Perhaps it'll still be going on when I get home. Wait, is that 1 PM EST or Pacific Time Zone?

"Wake me at 6!" That's all she's good for in my books.

Don't sell us Exchange users short. We are forced to key in a password every time we unlock. An alternate method would be indeed nice.

Yeah I know right? Why do people seem not to see the advantages of the fingerprint sensor? I think they must have just not thought it through or something.

Any word on Apple streaming the event via Apple TV like they did with WWDC?

Ugh. I just bought the 2013 Macbook Air Ultimate (haswell i7, 8gb, 512gb) for $1425 (new, factory sealed, from craigslist). Too good of a deal to pass up.

I guess my haswell rMBP refresh wait ends today... Oh well, I needed a laptop ASAP and I love my AIR! :)

The wait was fun while it lasted... hope I made the right decision. I salute all of you who have waited patiently thus far... hopefully the saying "good things come to those who wait" rings true here!

Yeah, the new rmbps will get super IGZO retina display, and be as thin as the air, with two graphics cards in SLI, as well as 3.0 ghz quad core processors standard across the board. :D:D:D

No, it was several years old. With the HDD dead, it now functions just like an old Airport Extreme.

You got a great deal!

You could sell it and get a pretty good 13-inch retina MacBook Pro when it comes out. That ultimate air costs 1850$ here at the Apple Canada store, so you could get some good money from selling that.

Ya, I guess I'll keep it for now, and use it until the rMBP releases (whenever that is). If I feel the rMBP is worth it, I will sell my Air.

I wouldn't be able to give up now this late into the game. I've been waiting since March. What's another month?

I also gave up, and I had also been waiting since the spring (April/May). However, I'm now entering my 3rd week of classes and can't afford to wait one more month. Hopefully they're announced Tuesday and I can return this 15" for a 13", but it's looking more and more like October...
