I'm afraid that they may end up just filling the rest of the time with stuff about the fingerprint scanner and other fluff.

CPU upgrade is impressive, obviously overkill for the phone, but Apple's making it clear that they can compete on chip development.

The 64-bit A7 in the iPhone 5S is a big deal. It means that Apple have the opportunity, if they want, take shift the Mac line from Intel to ARM processors within a few years.

I don't know about you but I don't want every single x86 app I use to be incompatible with a new ARM Mac. It happened when they went from PowerPC to Intel, but it would be a bigger deal now.

Not to mention, it removes any possibility of installing a different OS via Boot Camp.

I recall being pleasantly surprised how smooth Apple made the PowerPC to Intel transition. It was much smoother than the 680x0 to PowerPC transition.

Linux would run fine. In another few years, Windows will not be dead yet, but it will be moribund.

This is disappointing. Woke up excited to see something about the new rMBP but instead we get Elvis Costello.
