If other laptop brands can manage to have haswell laptops ready, Apple sure can. Apple will be shipping the laptops at WWDC within two weeks...
I was thinking it'd be 2-4 weeks if they did a pre-order. But completely forgot that you're not staying in the States for that long. =/ So on your part, that is very sucky... Do you have any family in the US to send the rMBP to? And then they could send it to you? Or would it still be the same price regardless?
you are still doing the calc wrong, but to be easy do a 90% tax over the product and its well within the range of the tax charge
did a recent math for the razer blade
{[1800 price + (40 bank transfer + 60 shipping)] * 60% tax + R$150 aduana} * 4% ICMS = 3.161,60 * 2 conversion rate = my heart really aches

Doesn't work. Would only work if I were in the US. Let's see what will happen. I hope I have some luck.

It was only an estimate. ICMS, which is the Brazilian VAT, varies on each state. Here in the state of São Paulo, it is 18% and not 4% (which is the minimum). So, it's really a lot of money.
They might support them but there will be no option for it. The MBPs have two RAM slots, and there are currently no 16GB sticks. That will change with DDR4 in 2014.Apologize if it has been discussed. Any chance the new MBPs (retina or not) will support 32GB RAM?
for imports its 4% as of jan 2013, if I read it correctly, Im in sp as well, we should get a drink in augusta
Ugh, can't wait for the next gen to come! Followed by the (based on last year) free upgrade to 10.9 for all Haswell owners

I wonder what benefits OS X 10.9 will bring to the table...

I guess we're right. We should definitely get a drink to drown our sorrows after the expected disappointment at WWDC, lol.

Question from a potential new MPB user, who's never bought anything directly after one of the Apple announcements.
Assuming that Apple announces the new line of MBP's, and assuming they are put up for ordering, what's the typical path to success to getting one as soon as possible? Is it just a matter of jumping onto their site and getting the order in? Does the site tend to get overwhelmed after an announcement making it impossible to get an order processed?
I've done enough of the fruitless searches for the new gadget hotness in the past (though never with an Apple product), and I am currently without a notebook and really eager to buy a MPB. I'd hate to end up being last in line.
You won't have a problem at all. Macs are not in demand like iPhones and iPads are.

I agree. Analysts know nothing, Jon Snow.
New rMBPs will be announced Monday; the question is when will they be available?
Why wouldn't they be available on Monday if they are released on Monday? It's not usual for Apple to delay the availability of products following its launch (of course there are exceptions). I see no reason why Apple should delay the availability of Haswell Macs if they are unveiled at WWDC.
