Oh well, it was a good run. Nice seeing you guys, I guess I'll have to leave from this thread a couple months to prevent the massive hankering of the retinas.

I had even prepared by arranging a borrowing of a stand and a trackpad, and saved loads of example desktops for arrangement inspiration.

Ah well, my PC will get a couple more months out of it.

I feel your pain, I really do. I'm in a similar boat with a dell laptop being held together with butterfly clips, temperamental battery that goes from fully charged to 100 dead when it feels like it, and the receiver for my logitech mouse recently lost. I would rather not spend even $1 on anything for this laptop.

Let's not get carried away here. Some of us have more than a little invested in the :apple: machine.

Well, it would be nice for a major crash so I can buy low. :)

I think many here will be more disappointed if the update in the Fall is rubbish. Not announcing it has raised the bar , Thunderbolt 2 , better displays etc are all being expected rather then a simply cpu bump.

I suppose the intel graphics won't be much of an issue on the 15" model though. I'd be temped to get a refurbished model though.

You're worse off than me - the only problem I have is that I can't work portable (I have a perfectly good Windows desktop that runs great after four years) and that I have to delay my company's accounting for two months as I use a Mac only app for that. Meanwhile, it sounds like you're in desperate need of a real computer. May I suggest buying an older Mac anno 2008-2010 for a couple hundred dollars (that you can sell for the same amount, maybe fifty dollars less) to keep you floating a couple months?

One good thing to come out of this joke, is that the bar is now raised - I expect 512GB baseline, TB2 and no image retention now.

Noticed MBPr no longer shows as "new" on the web-site... Maybe they had to make a choice on announcements; Mac Pro coming later this year vs MacBook Pro Retina coming in late-June/July. Didn't want to shaft the Mac Pro community yet again. Air was ready to go....

It's like the 2012 WWDC all over again when people were waiting for the new iMacs... which came out in October in the end. Too bad.

I guess we wont see another Apple "special" event until September? I was looking at 2012 and there were 5 damn events! This year so far we have only had 1!!! STill ticked that we didnt see a refresh for the rMBP, I wonder if they are planning on incorporating TB2 like they are doing with the Mac Pro

Is it me or does it seem like this WWDC was a bit rushed?? Phil totally rushed through his presentation and Craig could barely get through iOS 7 highlights!

im banking on a silent update around july/aug

they didnt spend much time talking about the airs during wwdc, maybe a minute or 2 max

This is interesting. If new systems were to be offered in July, I would think it would have been announced today. An August release would disrupt back to schools sales badly. And they do a lot of back to school business. You cannot afford to change systems with a 14 day return window the same month school starts. Costly.
My spidey senses are starting to detect October.

Really? You think after all of this, they would wait and do a silent update instead of waiting until the next special event? I am baffled as to why they didnt update the Pros, making me think they are a) redesigning them, b) adding TB2 and c) updating the screen?

the new airs got a solid update...and look very tempting

speaking as someone thats been waiting for the new 15 MBP
