I wait no more, just ordered the 15 from Macmall for $500 off and no sales tax. It will be top of the line for another 4-6 months, just like yours will be whenever you decide to pull the trigger.

So... on the upside, this thread can continue to grow.

Furthermore it seems that the update for the rMBPs could be substantial. Even if it's only Haswell and PCIe SSDs, this is quite a performance boost and reduction of power consumption.

I wonder if the release was pushed back for marketing purposes (Air out for college, Pro for holiday season), or for technical reasons (retina display yield should be fine, but maybe the Haswell quad cores are not available in sufficient quantities?).

Is more coming? A 15'' Air to fill the price gap? A (minor) redesign for the rMBPs? Any thoughts?

The one thing I just noticed is that the SSD is PCie, I hope its m.2, really really do

Yesterday people were believing the Haswell Macs are coming in July and now everyone is pretending they knew all along they will come later in the fall.

I need a new computer. I'm transfer colleges and need a new computer since I won't be able to use my desktop. Is it possible that the computers will ship before end of august?

This fall? Every other manufacturer already ships new notebooks with Haswell in it, but Apple f*cks me and sells the MBP with old Ivy Bridge.

the analyst kuo said it is possible for these new macs to be refreshed "later june or july"

and so far he's been correct about the MBA and 802.11 AC time capsules.

Add PCIe SSD to the list of things to expect for a Haswell rMBP.

this is huge actually, but heck ... sequential speeds doesn't matter in real life actually.
i'm more interested in whether it will bring huge performance increase on random write speed

and also, please guys...to those who talked a whole bunch of crap about IGZO panels. you guys have way too high expectations. this is apple, not PC makers who willing to sacrifice profit margins for the sake of showcasing new technology.

Acer and MSI ships their Haswell notebooks with Geforce 750M here in Denmark day-to-day.

Indeed, so does HP, Lenovo, Dell, and a few others. I'm surprised Apple is waiting as well. Seriously, waiting till this fall to use Haswell? Talk about outdated...

they are all using the MQ versions, which are basically out since this week, HQ will take a little bit longer, if you want to, blame the new intel ceo, that idiot

What will you guys do?

I had really hoped to buy the Haswell rMBP yesterday.

I don't really reed it right now (until september or something), but I could of course buy it. But knowing that next-gen CPU's, PCIe SSD etc. is coming within a few months, it would be devastating if I bought it, and then Apple updated it with Haswell one month after.

Of course, it's a small update CPU-wise, but an PCIe SSD would be nice....

So are you guys just buying one, and live with not having the latest and greatest, or will you wait until Haswell rMBP is released?

Do you know when the HQ versions will be released? My gut feeling tells me that the rMBP will most likely be updated late june, early july. I have a hard time seeing the Air getting haswell while their flagship laptop limps along with outdated cpu's for months.
