What the hell is IGZO? If you want a gaming laptop, Macbook is not the one to get.

Apple Stores should stock the 'ultimate' configurations (I assume you mean either 3.0GHz/768/8 or 2.8GHz/768/16), unless they sell out before you get there.

really? i thought they only had the two default base options at stores.. so does that mean there is a possibility the stores will have the low base model 15" with 16gb ram upgrade?

What the hell is IGZO?

you were asking for it with that kind of a question: link

So... How about them haswell retina MacBook Pro?

Joke aside, I don't know how long you have been following this thread but people have been talking about the haswell Asus and Dell for a while now and then the conversation just fades because it all comes down to the rMBP. If you keep pushing the conversation out people will just keep talking about it more. Just let it fade out.

Hopefully tomorrow we see some invitations from Apple.

I only mention it because I have been following this thread for a while and over the past week or so it seems more like a Dell Thread. It's beginning to annoy me. I did not come to this thread to read about a deal on a Dell PC.

We could talk about the pros and cons of iGPU versus dGPU if you really want to

Anyone think it's reasonable to suggest that the 13" rMBP gets a RAM boost to optional 16GB upgrade?

so i think based on how many posts are here on a forum..i guess worldwide the haswell rMBP will be the best start selling macbook :D

That's possible, but I think they primarily stock three models (codenamed better, best, ultimate?). If you have a look at the specs in store on the iPads, it shows three models including the two base models as well as a maxed out model.

EDIT: In case the iGPU/dGPU debate needs some more fuel:
"This year, the entry level 21.5-inch model gets Iris Pro 5200 while the rest feature updated NVIDIA Kepler discrete GPUs. It’s the same bifurcation that I expect to find on the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. As we found in our preview of Intel’s Iris Pro 5200, in its fastest implementation the GPU isn’t enough to outperform NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 650M (found in the 2012 15-inch rMBP). Apple’s engineers aren’t particularly fond of performance regressions, so the NVIDIA GPUs stick around for those who need them, and for the first time we get a truly decent integrated option from Intel."

Rumors

Anyone here who has previous experience with waiting for MBP's? I'm wondering if there were more real rumors and leaks in the previous waits for the MBP. This is going to be my first MBP and I thought we would know more about the Haswell rMBP by now but the fact is that we know nothing more than two months ago.

It's frustrating :(

There hasn't been anything lately, but all signs point to the next apple event. And that should be next week or the week after.

Yes I know, that's my point. I guess I should have formulated my question differently:
Is it normal for a MBP to have this few leaks before a release of a new generation or did all the other generations have significantly more leaks?

I hope I'm clear this time :)

USUALLY, a few days before the update 9to5 Mac gets part numbers for the Macs.

This DID NOT happen with the iMac update however last week.

But it is almost definitely happening this month. Don't worry, it's coming.

Even these little declarations comes from people who doesn't know facts certainly, based mostly times on rumours or hopes......

Makes my days a little bit better waiting for the rMBP!

PD:Yeah...i know....souns a lil bit desperate. That's the consequence of selling my MBP and being with no Mac.... :S

people apparently are VERY excited about broadwell, but it seems like another tock, not much CPU increase

Broadwell refers to the rMBP update that comes with the Broadwell processors. There's potentially a lot more of interest than the processor itself.

----------

I wonder what the charging times will be on a 10+ hour Haswell rMBP battery.

The extra battery life will be due to efficiencies in hardware and operating system, and not due to any significant increase in battery capacity. Expect charging times to be unchanged.

So tomorrow it can happens:

1) Invitations

2) Silent refresh

3) Sadly... nothing!

My guess is:

1) 45%
2) 15%
3) 40%

Thanks for the link!
If you head over to their GPU page, they make direct comparisons to the 2012 rMBP's graphics card as well as the other likely GPU candidates for Haswell rMBP.

Let the iGPU vs dGPU flame wars begin (again)

But performances in the graph below depens also on the CPU.

I would like to see a similar chart but with GPU performances independent from the associated CPU.

How does Iris perform with respect to HD4000 for example? And Iris pro with respect to a dGPU?
