Waiting for Haswell MBP Mega Thread

Okay, so show me this evidence why we're going to see a MacBook Pro refresh by the end of October

Meanwhile before the iMac was released, there were plenty of evidence. I remember there a daily post on macrumors that the iMac were going to be released. The rumors just wouldn't stop coming. So many iMac rumors!

No there's no evidence that it's going to release by the end of the month. We're all just speculating here. I don't know why people just assume we mean certainty.

Speculating is all that's left. We don't have anything else to talk about. We talked about Haskell features a millions of time. We all know what the next rMBP will likely have. We've just been reduced to speculating.

Yeah this wait is getting crazy. I mean, they could technically release a silent release anytime at all.

I'm just worried that if we don't hear anything at all in october, that they might release it in nov or dec?

I mean I really don't want to wait longer than october, is the current rMPB base 15 a bad choice?

The 13-inch will see bigger upgrades than the 15. But I'd just wait.

That's when a good part of users on this thread were born, including myself. :p

Then I don't tell you how old I am.. What the heck am I doing on this thread ? Ahhh right - again waiting for a product release. Btw - I already waited 6 month for my very first Mac which was the iBook G3 12" in 2003. I waited the whole second half of 2002 :-( The update was just a 100MHz increase.

Ouch. 100Mhz in 6 months is quite a wait. Its been about 4 months for me since i had my Macbook. 4 Months with only a mac mini connected to my projector. So i'm personally itching for this refresh ><

Apple said they would have a busy fall.

Fall lasts from October to November. This means most likely the event is this month or next.

It would just be out of character for Apple to wait until November. Last year was October as well.

The trolls are the ones saying JUNE 11! JULY! SEPTEMBER 10! OCTOBER 1! OCTOBER 22! and so on.

Apple tends to have new releases on the day after their earnings calls.

Yup, since it wasn't announced at the previous event my best bet was that the MBP would have been released on the 29th of October as it's the Tuesday after the earnings announcement (24th).

This is still a possibility and there may never be an announcement. But the method used to derive the date is probably the most reliable. (we know a prior correlation between quarterly earnings call and a release following it and that the call will happen on the 24th)

Earnings announcement is now the 28th.

unless busy fall just means iphones and mavericks

Why would they release Mavericks and the mac pro in the fall and not the macbook pro?

Since both Maverick and the MacPro will be released this fall. By apples own words, the event should be October or November. But November would be too close to the holiday shopping season. So I say October.

Not sure why so many people are bashing Dell / competitor posts.

People are writing on this forum because they want to get a 1st laptop / upgrade / replace broken etc.

Not everyone on here is posting because they just want the newest apple product. There are a lot of Haswell ultrabooks / notebooks being released at the moment; Acer, Asus, Samsung, Dell, Apple, Toshiba... The list goes on.

It's fair to say that most of the people on here are wanting to buy a Haswell MBP but it has been many months for people on here and some can't continue with their work without a machine.

My 5 year old macbook is on last legs and have been looking at devices and decided to wait it out (been wanting to upgrade for 3 months) but how long do you wait? If not October, when? This kind of delay on speculated release dates has happened time and time again on this thread. The longer the wait the more likely people are to jump ship, what is wrong with people discussing other products in the same category?

It is something a lot would benefit from on here, and if you look through the posts there have been a fair few people asking for buying advice.

So lets all stop fighting :)

Also, have there been geekbench results posted before product releases before? It seems a little sloppy to be honest... Not sure what people think of the validity of the result.

Why not release Mavericks and the Mac Pro together if they are going to be released in the same month anyway?

Why not do Macbook Pro and Mac Pro together?

I don't think you can apply simple logic to these things like that.

Yeah I agree, but I have been waiting for some time, and I thought to myself that I would wait until oct, because I have been without a laptop in university, which isn't the worst thing ever it's just helpful to have a laptop. :)

I guess we can say the Oct 15th rumor is now false.

No invitations yet. See you on Oct 22 guys! :)

Unfortunately you're both correct ...

Well, heck. We should just close this thread then.

I think I've refreshed the homepage of macrumors about a 1000 times in the past 15 minutes but sadly no sine of any invites for any event.

Ah well, next week we're meeting here again? Can't wait :p
