The leaves are a clue in the invitation! They're going to "leave" the new MacBook Pros until next year.![]()
Um...confirmed by who? It isn't confirmed until Apple actually sends out invitations. Anything else is rumor, conjecture and speculation...
The text of the invite does not give us a lot of clues:
We still have a lot to cover
Granted: IPad, Maverick and Mac Pro.
Very likely: Macbook Pro Retina, Mac Mini
Could it be: TB2 Display, Apple TV, IWork
can't read too much into the "we've got a little more to show you".. here's the invite from last year's 10-23-12 event unveiling the ipad mini.. same text

"This time it won't be about phones, but Apple has more to talk about this fall the company's just sent out invites to an event on October 22nd in San Francisco. It's likely that this is where it will announce new iPads, along with the final features and availability of OS X 10.9 Mavericks, new MacBook Pros, and maybe even the wild new Mac Pro we first saw at WWDC in June. We may also hear about Apple TV, and rumors continue to fly that Apple's working on a smartwatch. Whatever there is to see, The Verge will be there live with up-to-the-second updates on anything and everything the company might show."
"IPADS, MACBOOKS, MAVERICKS, TV AND MAYBE A WATCH?"
They seem pretty sure about MacBooks. Let's face it guys, think clearly for a second. Chances are pretty high it's coming.

a lot to cover > a little more to show you

They said they were going to release the Haswell rMBP at WWDC so it doesn't mean anything
Galaxy Gear is awful, ugly, and plain expensive. It's gimmicky, lame, and stupid. Apple would be smart by not joining the trend.
After the February 2013 "bump", it would have been extremely fast to release a new rMBP, wouldn't it? October sounds more probable imo, why wouldn't it happen now?

Or Apple would be smart to make a GOLD smartwatch. I'm not expecting it yet anyway.
Give me MacBook or give me death!
***** Yes! A big slap to the naysayers, thanks alot Apple! Just prove us that you can deliver new rMBP's within the weeks![]()

Throw enough adjectives in there?
lo
A small note about you comment : "if you can't afford to renew your laptop whenever you want, it's time to review your business model" : this line seems right out from a GTA character (this isn't flattering, in case you're wondering).
Oh I'm sorry I don't have thousand of dollars to spend on whatever.
Also, if you had ever worked in a big company (even without a tight budget), you'd know they usually have a "renewal cycle" (3 to 4 years in general) so you'd better choose wisely if you plan to stay for a while.
