750M should not be an unreachable expectation as it is in Dell's XPS 15 now. If you are not expecting the 750M, you are probably somehow not confident that Apple will put the best into this Haswell refresh...
Exactly right; I'm not. Apple has quite the track record of not putting the "best" GPUs into their laptops. Factors such as battery life, marketing, supply chain management, long-term planning, and cost have often been prioritized about performance. Some of those point to Iris Pro in the short-term, and some of them point to iGPUs in the longer term.

Exactly how high the battery life turns out to be is the only uncertain part, but it should be significantly better if Apple wants the Pro to sell.
Battery life marketing has always used the iGPU, so I expect most of our improvement on that front will come simply from the Haswell architecture. Given today's 7 hour claims, I fully expect we'll see 10 hours on the refresh. The alternative would be a fairly meaningless update for most users.

and what is this track record?

Look at previous MBP's and the respective GPU tied to it.

they design a computer years ago with the expected amount of thermals giving off. so they put the best GPU they can given the constraints of size and battery life. that i'm agreeing iwth you on.

i'm just kind of curious where you got your assumptions regarding the 750m?

So do you guys think we will see the 750m at least or will it just be Iris Pro. I think it has been established that Iris Pro has inferior performance to even the 650m so I doubt Apple will downgrade performance on a newer model.

there honestly is NO reason for apple not to offer it as an option. apple has done this before, they offered a cheaper 15" with just integrated graphics, but left a model with the dedicated

you know why?

Because the capability is there. Apple rarely redesigns the logic board heavily and/or thermal capabilities of a laptop outside a refresh cycle. Apple will try to make money off of you vs leaving a giant hole in your laptop for no reason.

It will have a 750m. As you say, no point in downgrading performance with no benefit.

As to offering a cheaper "low-end" 15" with Iris - perhaps (not sure Iris is that much cheaper than a dGPU tbh). But I'd rather see it in the 13"...

thats tempting..but with less than 60 hours away that would be unthinkable

Yeah but if the upgrade is not that big it isn't that bad. I mean 16GB RAM, 512 SSD... Although I have the feeling this is a scam. I don't know why but to be so cheap... I don't want to be doubting good things...

Mac users are so spoilt - one thing I don't care about with Haswell is battery life. I'm coming from a dell with 2 hours battery life for 7 hours is more than awesome to me.

I just want to the latest/fastest/greatest.

Better happen on Tuesday.

It does feel weird considering that I can spot some grammar mistakes and the ammount of products they are selling is ridiculous lol..

Guys look: http://casiteki.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=12466 Sounds really good...
Top of the line for almost 1900.

Great deal....but
1. Is it new or refurbished?
2. Can you trust that site?

Well if it saves $200-300 I'd gladly opt for the 15"MBPr with Intel's best IRIS 5100 if it's an option. I could get by with a MBA's GPU power (currently have a 2010 MBA with the core-duo and old a$$ NVIDIA chip!) but really want the bigger and best screen available. The MBA screens are a step down from even the high-res cMBP's IMO.
