At least we still got a price drop)

Did you really? Amazon has been selling the Ivy Bridge models for $1999. They won't be offering a $200 discount on the new models. Let's not confuse MSRP pricing and marketing with real-world numbers...

Hmm. No new Mac Mini. And no new Thunderbolt Display.

Anybody have any insight? Is Apple done making monitors? I may be jumping the gun here...

At WWDC, Apple did say "third-party 4K monitors" when talking about the Mac Pro.

Great, you can buy me that, because I'd rather have the last generation—especially at the prices for which those will be selling now simply because they're allegedly "older" and "outdated."

LOL. Even better, I have edu discount - who knows how much student discount will be. I wonder how much SSD and RAM is possible.

So no TB2 display (yet)...good to know the Mac Book pro will be upgradeable with TB2...very nice future proof

So I have the early 15" that I bought for 1999 with dGPU, I should probably keep it?? I'm rated at 7 hours but I'm sure that'll go up with mavericks install. Seems like dGPU would be better for what I do, auto cad. Any thoughts?
I have 45 day return with best buy.

I promise you guys that I won't open this thread with my brand new macbook pro retina!

As a German I'd like to say:

"Mr. Admin, tear down this thread!"

28 years, East Germany was seperated by a Soviet wall, 9 month I was figuratively seperated by a "Waiting for Haswell MBP Mega Thread" from my new rMBP.

It'll be interesting to see how deep the discounts are considering the price drop on the new models.

Moreover, I'm curious to know whether that $200 price drop is in effect for the 750M-equipped machines too...

so am I wrong, or did they take away the dedicated graphics in the macbook pros? Oh man am I glad I did not waste my time waiting for this crap and got a windows laptop instead.

I'd keep your existing machine, no question, unless we see something in the tech specs that wasn't in they keynote. I have that same model, and money is no object (other than the principle thing), and I don't think I'm going to get a Haswell...

I am really bummed that they downgraded from 8GB to 4GB ram on the base 13 retina. Really offsets the price drop as I can't envision not getting 8.

Apple does offer $200 off for students. So for us, it starts at $1799, a great price.

Congratulations to everyone who waited!

Thanks, sorry to see you leave the thread midway :(
