Can't wait to read the posts on this thread when they find out its not released in October.

I feel cruel but its amusing

Are you sure you want to know what will happen? Ok....

There will be an earthquake like no other, felt world wide, caused by the collective wails of grown man and women crying. Their tears will lead to a destructive flood that will ruin crops and destroy cities. There will be food shortages, sickness and anarchy . The small population of humanity that survives will be forced back to the stone ages. No running water, no electricity, no Wi-Fi . Centuries later, the story of our demise will become a grave reminder about the power and danger of disappointment.

Of course all of this can be prevented if Apple just gives us what we want.

Yet the Dell XPS 15 with I7-6700HQ and a 2gb GTX 960M still gets more battery life then the current 15" Macbook Pro?

I think people are willing to trade off using an iGPU for a dGPU with better graphics.

iGPU is an iGPU at the end of the day, there are laptops now with desktop series GPUs (1060, 70, 80) that still pull decent battery life. Not everyone who wants to buy a 15" "PRO" laptop wants to be stuck with an iGPU.
I'm sure Dell has the courage to say they have better battery life on paper. All I care about is real life performance and there the Dell is not even close. To be fair if you do demanding task all the time the gap is a lot lower between the two. That said the average user me included need just moderate GPU performance most of the time so the iGPU is beneficial. It is just plain thermodynamics that 45W CPU+iGPU(+~30W dGPU) is going to have better battery life than 45W CPU+useless iGPU + ~60W dGPU.

I really don't care anymore ... In June, I would have spend ~3.000 Euro for a Skylake MBP.
Now, I just wonder how bad the options will be after October.
For sure the pricing of the high-end will be atrocious.

There is no such possibility unless Apple proves that they are a bunch of idiots absolutely having no idea what the f*** they are doing. I firmly believe that is not the case.
My wait will be until somewhere around 20th October. If there are no MBs released to that date, even worse no invites sent that will be very very sad.

It's already beyond very, very sad...

Something's happening on the 21st, at least based on industry response. Spigen lists its AirPod accessory with a 10/21 release. Could be coincidence, but who knows?
Probably the AirPods promised late October

Apple will ship Airpods with the new MBP confirmed.
Yeah, right. That ain't happening unless the eliminate the 3.5 jack

Even if they eliminated the jack, don't fool yourself into believing that you'd get free air pods.

I really do believe that at this point the release date is no longer important.
Apple should have acted way sooner, or at least drop their prices.
... and this is not what is happening.

I'm no longer looking forward to the release, meaning that I will only consider buying a reasonable product that will definitely not be the top end. I will not be a launch day buyer, but look very hard at the specs and limitations.
Especially the ports.

I've been dumping money on Apple since 2006 and this will stop now.

Buy a cheap pc ultrabook/chomebook for $200 and go with that until the mac is released. They are probably better than you would imagine.

You could try an Ipad with external keyboard. If you end up getting a new MBP, then you'll have a tablet and a laptop (which is more useful than two laptops)
