Tim called the iPad Pro: “the clearest expression of our vision of the future of personal computing.”

So I guess we can all buy that?

I managed to stopped someone from buying a MBP at my local Apple store by putting the macrumors buyer's guide on display.

Feel like I saved someone today :)

LOL. SAVAGE!

Good Job !!
How about a "class action/flash mob" kind of thing, where anybody from this thread that can, goes to an Apple shop and put on Safari (and on as much mac/devices as possible) the macrumors buyers guide and/or this thread ?
This could be something ! :)
(I could take care of the one next to Opera in Paris)

I just sold my iPad Air 2 yesterday because I never used it. The Mac is so much better at everything I do. I am also in the process of selling my rMBP. So I hope that new ones are out soon

I mentioned planning to buy a MacBook Pro when I picked up my 7 Plus, and an Apple Store employee warned me that they'll probably be updated in October. I pretended not to know, but thought it was pretty cool that they're letting people know about it.

Really ?
This is serious information then, as apple store employees are not supposed to know more than us, and in case they did I suppose it would be a fault to tell it to customers ..

Not the one from my local store, she was using the words "the latest and greatest". And that's when I started to browse the macrumors site.

They don't know any more than us, they browse mac news like the rest of us.

The only people who use ipad seriously are my daughter and my elderly mother.

I can't believe Apple seriously think iPad can replace computers, I would love to see one of the Apple execs creating a formal document, spreadsheet or a presentation on an iPad.

Just because you got 2 apps running side by side, and can watch a video in PiP, doesn't make it a computer, Timmy!!!

Is there another computer company with a more ridiculous product line than Apple's?

They can't even develop Keynote, Pages, or even iOS on an iPad. They, too, need good and powerful Macs to do their job.

Bottom line is that October is THE month for Apple to announce new MBP's before the end of the year and they will have Skylake. What processor for the 13 inch & 15 inch, no clue.
...again.
This "sticked post" has the processors that will be 99% in the MBPs.
Please, stop it with this Kaby Lake thing.
Please.
And about release date, at least a couple of trusted analysts said it would have been Q4 2016.
We're reaching it.
Is going to be october.
I agree with this, it's either October or next March.

It's funny how we had exactly the same doubt an year ago. Then both october and march disappointed us.

I really do believe that at this point the release date is no longer important.
Apple should have acted way sooner, or at least drop their prices.
... and this is not what is happening.

I'm no longer looking forward to the release, meaning that I will only consider buying a reasonable product that will definitely not be the top end. I will not be a launch day buyer, but look very hard at the specs and limitations.
Especially the ports.

I've been dumping money on Apple since 2006 and this will stop now.

Getting to be the same, it`s been so long since Apple has released a meaningful update to the MP & MBP that in many respects I no longer care. If anything I am finding Windows based systems that meet both business & personal needs better. Add into the mix what Apple will deliver is likely to be underwhelming, given their lack focus on the Mac currently.

Q-6

Couldn't wait, I just spent $3k on a new MBP...

My older MBP is dead, I tried to wait out for the new update but wasn't possible any longer :/

Has anyone tried returning a MBP to Apple Store every 14 days until the new one is out? Is there a limit to how many times I can buy and return MBPs?

Man damn Apple for not releasing a new MacBook Pro. Looks like Im going to have to buy one next week and it'll be the old model from last year

Apple CEO Tim Cook has responded to a MacRumors reader's email about the lack of a long-awaited MacBook Pro refresh, stressing that he "loves charging top dollar for old hardware" and that Apple is "committed to hiking up the prices even more for even older hardware". He told the customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, to "stay tuned while we f*ck up the entire Mac line" suggesting that updates to the Mac lineup won't be on the horizon anytime soon.
