Good Job !!
How about a "class action/flash mob" kind of thing, where anybody from this thread that can, goes to an Apple shop and put on Safari (and on as much mac/devices as possible) the macrumors buyers guide and/or this thread ?
This could be something ! :)
(I could take care of the one next to Opera in Paris)

That would be outstanding. We should make October 1st be the day we all go to Apple Stores and put the MacRumors buyers guide on as many computers as we can. I can go to one of the Chicago stores. Get a picture and post here.

again the whole weekend without any fresh rumors:(
i will wait untill the 16 October. Then I will buy the 2015 rMBP

I'd imagine there will be something on Monday or Tuesday of next week. A rumor, a leak, a report from Gurman, something. Then the following week they'll announce new MBP that will begin shipping on the 14th. Review moratorium will be lifted on the 11th.

Fingers crossed

I just updated iTunes on my old Win7 laptop. Sold my MBP and waiting for any word on new macs. At least my iOS devices are backed up.

Will try to do a test tomorrow with a pic, but yes we should all agree on a date.

Make it the home page for Safari
The url/link is easy enough to just remember and type it in once you get to the Safari preference page .

Another thing you can do is just open a new tab in Safari and type it in, it's important to just type it in, so that it gets added to the browsers Top Sites view ...

I appreciate your unapologetic optimism. We could use more of it around here.

You realize the flaw in this logic don't you? The Apple stores are always packed (at least they are here in NYC) so by the time you set all the computers to macforums and got ready to take the picture I bet 90% of the screens will have been changed already by other people playing around with the computer. You would be stuck in an infinite loop of setting the homepages. lol
[doublepost=1474661713][/doublepost]I just sent an email to Tim Cook and told him if they don't release the MBP soon I will be forced to buy a new PC (which isn't true.. I have an xps 13 with skylake CPU and 16gb of ram) and I won't be able to buy my first ever mac. I expecting my email to hold much power and get things moving quicker You're welcome all! :p

Couldn't wait, I just spent $3k on a new MBP...

My older MBP is dead, I tried to wait out for the new update but wasn't possible any longer :/

Has anyone tried returning a MBP to Apple Store every 14 days until the new one is out? Is there a limit to how many times I can buy and return MBPs?

I'm doing something similar to that right now, but not with a mac. I needed a laptop for college so I went to Costco last week and bought a HP laptop for around like 600 or 700 dollars. Costco has a 90 day return policy for electronics like laptops even if they're opened. I figured, in 90 days hopefully we see something new. Or at least an announcement or something. If the MBP hasn't been announced yet, at that point, I would return the laptop, and buy another one on the same day, either from the same store or another store so they don't recognize me lol. And I'd keep doing that until the new ones are available. 90 days is a lot better than 14 days haha. Unless of course you need to use a mac while you're waiting.

WHAT?

never thought of that.... buy a laptop a return it....is that possible?

As I said..I am moving to another country I have editing job waiting impatienly but I don't want to bring my iMac

what's the deal with returns?

Lets say I buy, install a software and use it ...can I return it and get a refund? or buy a new one?
does it work if its bought on Credit card too?

that could be my solution...I fly Oct 4...

what's the deal with returns in US? please help...

Thanks a bunch.

I don't think his children can hold on that long.

His children haven't been eating all year, they are probably dead by now. unless they started eating each other

actually I think apple only does 14 days return. but yea you can order a laptop online, and then request a return. I am pretty sure apple pays all shipping and no restocking fee usually. Some may see its unethical to buy a laptop that you are planning on returning. So I'll leave that up to you.

If you are leaving the country I am not sure how that works, you might have to pay to ship it back.

What laptop is this guy using with Onkyo written on it, Origin ?

Otherwise these imessage stuff are so boring to me (and so is the whole video "tone"), maybe I'm too old, just writing sms/texto or using what's app is really all I need/use for messages ..
And at least SMS are not a proprietary platform ...

Oh and btw, I'm really TIRED of waiting !! :( :(

Do you mean the main presenter? He looks like he is using one of these:

https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/defianceII-15/

which I have. On topic, as I bought it just after WWDC when my hopes of a new MBP were crushed. Mine is the same shape, has Onkyo speakers and has the same power lead. Where he gets in in the US I have no idea but mine is built to order in the UK.

FWIW I love it, it is blazing fast and it has meant that I have soldiered on with a 2010 MBA since then. I'm only on here as work say they need to buy me a laptop in the next two months and they will spring for a MBP, if I want one.

hey...thanks for response.

I am not leaving the country, I'll be in the US for a long time.

My plan is to exchaged it for the new mbp when it comes out...so, i want even ask for the money back..if it doesn't come in October then I keep the laptop i bought...It just a solution to problem I have...I am sure apple wont mind..I will spend my cash with them anyways...I just don't want to keep an outdated laptop for that much money..

I will buy in the store so that should be ok..

I guess I have to make sure they announced it and I keep the one I bought in perfect shape...arrrr..I wish I didn't have to do this.

Thanks

my nearest Apple Store has blocked other websites than Apple.com, so it's impossible for me :(
