So I've been writing snarky replies to several people on here, but now I have to take my own advice. My main use for a new MBPr is audio. Recording both at home but 40% mobile recording. I need compability with firewire(my mobile rig is 24 channels of firewire audio), and I also edit videos for my band.

I'm on a 2009 Core2Duo iMac. Besides an estimated 10% gain in Cpu performance (10% more VST plug-ins), why should I wait. The current deal here in Norway is 14% off the rMBP. Savings of close to 500$.
I'm close to caving. What am I waiting for with a Skylake MBP?

(I also use lost of USB hardare. Apogee Duet, control surface etc)

This article is hilarious. No real info, but it claims October 26th without explaining... and offers a link. Follow that, nearly the exact same article, exact same prediction of October 26th... and another link.

Anyway, when you get to the bottom of the chain, it's a University Herald article (surprise, surprise) and the October 26th prediction actually refers to Microsoft's SurfaceBook 2 event and is solely based on the date of the event last year.

I've never seen such a clickbait onion before. I was actually expecting it to eventually lead back to this forum... but alas, no such luck.

University Herald would never EVER do enough research to look over two of the pages here even though their content quality would improve dramatically.

For those interested in a none Razer Core eGPU (yes with proper power and cooling).

If your last unit was a 2009 Core2Duo iMac, I would definitely get a 2015/15 retina. This way you get a machine, with the last greatest ports: a true Thunderbolt 2 Port, a true USB3 Port, and the SDXC doesn't hurt either.

This is definitely the case if you can get a really good deal.

Now if for some reason you were like some of the guys in here who have like a 2013 or 2014 rMBP, and are NEWHORES i.e. need NEW no matter what! Then you would probably wait for the all new Type-C decked out system. But I still fail to see the greatness of Type-C, it usually take 3-4 years before a port truly shines.

It takes products that take advantage of it, the bugs to get worked out, AND the prices to drop. Or it's just rape-age!

I just got one and bought an Orinco 4-Port USB3 Hub and it's been flawless...

Not to mention I bought all the accessories I could for it, (case, keyboard cover, palm rests, hub, magSafe o-ring, because they were already out and in stores...

Just a thought, but I am just here to hope and pray the mac line gets something, and the comedy. :D

Or in the case of Thunderbolt ... 6-7 years and still waiting.

You are waiting because the current lineup is pathetic. Processors are old and for 2500€ you get 256ssd?!

Alright a quick question. I know none of us know. But when do you guys think Apple will introduce a full OLED screen? If the iPhone is 2017, then iPad rumoured to 2018, then I'm sure it could be 2019. Or perhaps even the next refresh?

You realize the flaw in this logic don't you? The Apple stores are always packed (at least they are here in NYC) so by the time you set all the computers to macforums and got ready to take the picture I bet 90% of the screens will have been changed already by other people playing around with the computer. You would be stuck in an infinite loop of setting the homepages. lol
[doublepost=1474661713][/doublepost]I just sent an email to Tim Cook and told him if they don't release the MBP soon I will be forced to buy a new PC (which isn't true.. I have an xps 13 with skylake CPU and 16gb of ram) and I won't be able to buy my first ever mac. I expecting my email to hold much power and get things moving quicker You're welcome all! :p
Can't we write a code and install it on every computer and then at a certain time every screen automatically shows the page?

A prime example of how the rumour mill works.

i wish all data could extrapolate that easily with my uni research too...

and why are people so obsessed with oled in the first place???

How big is the chance the next mbp will have nothing but usb type c? I would love a smaller mbp with the latest hardware but I won't like adapters or dongles for usb 3 and hdmi. Why would I even need usb type c? Is there any good device besides some android phones that natively has male usb type c?

I'm hoping for:-

1) OLED Screen
2) USB B ports
3) Thunderbolt ports x 2
4) Small bezel and 16" screen
5) Magsafe power connection

It's a true LED viewing experience.
and what's that supposed to mean? you're talking ad-language.

color accuracy is not subjective, but a measurable entity. in this LCD are still superior.
i still don't see any big oled display for cheap, it may work well for smaller sizes, but not yet for bigger screens (as we're talking laptops here).

is there any competitor selling an oled display laptop yet?
