Do you guys think that it will charge thru all 4 usb C ports or just one port will support charging?

I seriously hope there will be at least one full size USB port. But I have my doubts. And 4 USB-C may be adequate on the 13" rMBP, but the 15" needs more ports. 6-8 would be cool.

color accuracy is not subjective, but a measurable entity. in this LCD are still superior

Color accuracy is not the same as how good it looks.
I understand that for some people its important to have accurate display but 95% of regular people will tell you that OLEDs, AMOLEDs look better.
Also, if you havent put some galaxy device next to an iphone and see what it looks like.

Besides an estimated 10% gain in Cpu performance (10% more VST plug-ins), why should I wait. The current deal here in Norway is 14% off the rMBP. Savings of close to 500$.
I'm close to caving. What am I waiting for with a Skylake MBP?

You are right, the Skylake speed bump is not that big.
But people are not waiting for Skylake MBP because of the Skylake CPU.
We are waiting because of:

Twice as fast GPU
Twice as fast SSD
Larger capacity SSD options
DDR4 RAM
Larger capacity RAM options
USB-C
Larger touchpad
Improved keyboard
Improved battery life
Thinner
New colors
Improved screen color and brightness
Reduced screen bezels
OLED function row

Most of these features are 100% due to appear in the Skylake MBP which is why it's the most exciting MBP update ever.

It's a true LED viewing experience. Not the fake **** that is LCD. You need to see an OLED screen and you'll understand.

Once you go with AMOLED, everything else pales, unless you need absolute colour accuracy. For day to day use my own AMOLED system remains to be visually impressive, bringing a level of vibrancy that few can match. I have little doubt that software developments will result in true colour accuracy as and when required.

What I realise it will require a sea of dongles to achive I can do today, if all ports are USB C...

Either adapters or new cables. So at the moment I have a Thunderbolt -> LAN adapter, miniDP -> DP, USB and headphone jack connected to my 15".

For my new setup including two 4k screens I would need a USB-C -> LAN, two USB-C -> DP, two USB-C -> USB and of course one USB-C for charging. So at least 6 USB-C ports, please.

And if you look closely 6 USB-C ports on the 15" are not that many. At the moment we have 1x charging port, 2x Thunderbolt, 2x USB, 1x HDMI, 1x SD. If Apple wants to go for the "all USB-C approach" and eliminating every other type of cable, 6x USB-C would be just fine.

They have already leaked. We know what's coming, the new function bar, thinner form factor, etc. There's not much else to leak. They are still MBP's.
And my concern is the thinner form factor will reduce to a single USB-C port. I don't want all this dongles. 2015 model looking better.

But wouldnt there be a leak of them starting to mass produce them?

They don't mass produce them. They just produce them. ;) The scale is much, much less than iPhones, so leaks aren't as common. We're lucky we got that case leak in June.

The 13" will have 4 USBCs if the case leak is correct. I wouldn't expect anything other than USBC.

One of my major concerns; I am all for USB C as it is by the far better standard to date. That said after over a year of solid business usage across multiple organisations & countries I have yet to come across "one" peripheral that can connect via USB C natively with my 2015 1.2 rMB and now 2016 M3 Samsung TabPro S.

This rMB I am responding on currently has 5 of 7 ports in use. An all USB C MBP will be of little use to me as I will need to literally carry a dock with me to achieve the same.

100% Apple to less than 3% keep it up Tim & Co, just 4 Mac`s to go, sorry no "Super Computer`s" needed here...

That's my fear. I already need an ethernet dongle.

How big is the chance the next mbp will have nothing but usb type c? I would love a smaller mbp with the latest hardware but I won't like adapters or dongles for usb 3 and hdmi. Why would I even need usb type c? Is there any good device besides some android phones that natively has male usb type c?

lol, you haven't been here long huh. Somewhere in the last 1k pages the leak of the chassis was mentioned. It highly suggested that the new MBP will be all USB-C with headphone port, and nothing else. Also everything is going to USB-C so it's more about future proofing.

Somewhere in the last 1k pages
*chuckles*

I have the 2015 rMBP and a S7 Galaxy and... I think I prefer the Mac's screen. Yes, S7's screen looks amazing, but colour accuracy leaves quite something to desire. One of the websites I use has hot pink menu/banners – it's not that I am a huge fan of hot pink but on the S7 screen it's orange-ish. And it drives me bonkers. I tried an app to change white balance without rooting and while it helps, it also causes certain other apps to not function properly (something about screen overlays). So I prefer the current rMBP screen, even if it doesn't jump out at me and scream "AREN'T I BEAUTIFUL".

Q-6[/QUOTE]

exactly i dont have any device that uses usb-c nativley so if i would like to do ANYTHING with my 3k€ computer I'd have to rely on having a f*cking adapter with me...

Agreed, except for the last part. The rMBP is the best update ever (although the first Intel and the first unibody MBP's were pretty cool as well).

If the new rMBP will only use USB-C and no dongle is included, you wouldn't be able to use your iPhone with your Macbook without buying a dongle to connect, which in my mind is pretty weird. I hope Apple knows that and either includes a dongle or a normal usb port. I have a Nexus 6P with USB-C so I could connect them fine, but still weird for the iPhone users.

and what's that supposed to mean? you're talking ad-language.

i still don't see any big oled display for cheap, it may work well for smaller sizes, but not yet for bigger screens (as we're talking laptops here).

is there any competitor selling an oled display laptop yet?

I'm not that involved in the hard technology side, so I can't speak from that perspective, but from this consumer's perspective OLED's are noticeably better.

Do you guys remember when Sony released their first OLED screens? Back then it was quite difficult/novel/expensive, so the very first screen was this tiny 12-inch (I think) mini TV. It was many years ago and my memory is AWFUL, but I still remember the day my father took me to see it. I come from a family that's used to high-quality consumer electronics (B&O, Sennheiser, Loewe, etc), but that screen....man that screen.... It's hard to describe. Everything, from the intensity of the colors to the depth of the blacks, was just at another level. Sure, non-OLED screens have improved much since then and can be pretty awesome, but if Apple releases an OLED iPhone (or better, a Mac) I would buy it in a heartbeat.

if Apple releases an OLED iPhone (or better, a Mac)

I bet that they will call it the most ridiculous name ever. Something in the lines of "iColor" display. "The best display we have ever made!, 300% brighter 800% more color!"

Here we are at the 1024th page. No macbooks. :)
