First off, the Razor Core has an integrated gpu as well, so that's still not a good fit for someone who wants to play a fairly demanding current game.

Razer Core is the housing, where you can put a desktop GPU in.

Razer Stealth is the thing you might be thinking about. Integrated GPU only on the U-series processor. ITs an Iris 520 at that, if I'm not mistaken.

The Razer Blade 14 has a GTX 1060 tho. And it's not a thick nor heavy laptop. I'd like to see what a GTX 1050 will be, and if it would fit the Mac's...

Anyways I still believe that the Mac 15'' will either have only an Iris 580 or an AMD solution. This whole Nvidia noise that's going around must be for an external solution, maybe Apple comes out with their own thing and say "AMD cards support this and we are hard at work with Nvidia so their cards work as well in the near future".

If Apple doesn't care for an eGPU option at least make it so as the Mac's support the Razer Core via Windows 10 Bootcamp... Would be better than nothing.

Place your bets gentlemen! I guess 11, 18, or 25!

PS. I hope I got all the dates correct...

Note that November is of course possible but unprecedented.

As someone who has been using Macs for the last 15 years for work, part of me just wants the announcement so I can plan for the future.

For instance, as someone who goes through a lot of hard drives, I'm definitely against buying portable thunderbolt drives right now because the cable is connected to the drive, meaning I'll need a dongle on a new MBP. I also don't want to buy a USB-C drive because it's a bit of a waste right now (as my rMBP doesn't have the port for it). I could use a new keyboard, but I should wait because maybe the next gen will have the OLED panel on the keyboard, and I'll want it to match the laptop.

What if in the next few weeks I need a new monitor? Microphone? Headphones? Those are all things that are worth waiting for (if the need arises). Everything gets put on hold.

I've been carrying around dongles for the past 4 years, so I know it's not a big deal. But I'd like to avoid it when possible....

I'd be satisfied with any of those 3 days. I'd prefer 11 of course, but hey anything in October is perfect.
It'll be an expensive month, new MBP, new phone, I'm ready!!!! WOOOOO
(desperation makes one crazy :D )

it's getting serious guys !!

Who's next ??

Hey, what about my dream from before the march event??

I had a dream about the keynote yesterday. It was so weird that I wrote it down to remember it and I just had to share it in this thread.

The first thing that I remember from my dream was that I missed the first part of the keynote. As I opened the live stream, I was very annoyed with myself because I forgot to watch it from the start.

The first thing I saw was Tim Cook talking about MacBooks. I was surprised because I didn't think they were going to update the MacBooks at this event. He said the new MacBooks had the new 6th gen Intel processors. Tim said they were updating the 15 inch, and introducing a new 16 inch MacBook Pro. Then he went backstage to get the new MBP and he held it with one hand to show it while everyone were applauding.

It was the same silver aluminum as the current MacBooks but it was very thick, at least 5 times thicker than a rMBP. I thought it was attached to a dock because the bottom part was bigger and wider than the upper part with a line going through the middle. It had a tapered design, just like the MBA. I remember I was kind of disappointed because I wanted it to be thinner and have a sleeker design.

Somehow I was standing there at the event and watching this from behind, in the audience (not on live stream) but I didn't think much about it. Tim passed the MBP on to the audience and then I saw a big, round power button with the standby symbol on it. The button was very big. It was placed in the top right corner of the trackpad covering up a big part of it. The first guy who got to see it pressed the button and the screen turned on. He then passed the MBP to the next guy and then I started to see fire coming from the keyboard but no one seemed to notice or care about it. The fire caught up and it started to burn a lot.

Someone put the MBP on the ground and then I looked at it from a closer view. I saw the fire was just burning a tape that was holding a cardboard like material in place. The fire stopped and someone took out the cardboard and suddenly there was a very big hole in the place of the keyboard and trackpad. In fact the whole MacBook was now a very large screen attached to a big empty box. It was so large I think it was close to a 40 inch TV in size and the box was at least 30 cm deep. I thought the screen was very bad quality, it looked like it had uneven backlighting (it was colored bright blue) but I remember I was thinking it had to be a 5k screen.

Then Tim came down in person and showed that the hardware was just a very thin part in the bottom of the box. The components were all colored in black. Then I started thinking why it was so big and why most of it was empty space and I wanted to ask but I just woke up and I was suddenly lying in bed staring at nothing and thinking about the madness I was dreaming about.

Maybe I've waited for too long...

Problem for me is that I will loose whats left of my credibility if its not released in October.
I stopped 3 people from buying macbook airs, I told them good chances it would be at WWDC, then that it would be at September event. And I almost guaranteed them it would be October.
I am ****ed

As I noted way back on page 949, the last 2 October release dates for rMBPs were October 23, 2012 (13") and October 22, 2013. Those were both Tuesdays, so I went with Tuesday, October 25th.

The 15" was even better. It had no ports at all, a Core M CPU, and a built in scanner(!!!!!).
HOWL. I hope it was also very very thin!

Why not?
Every rumor we have point to a release in October, plus different trustable analysts have said that a new MBP is coming in the last quarter.
So it is coming, it's just a little matter of time at this point.
You should check out the "Mac Mini is almost definitely coming" thread.

I am hoping today we see some news or something new. what do you think?

Okt it is quite a bit more complicated once you consider even older events! I guess we are lost with predicting... haha

Perhaps one can call the auditorium/venue to see about future availability ;)

Let us know if/when he responds and what he says.

He responded. unsurprisingly, he had no good sources.
One source was a anonymous email, and the other source was a friend who worked at an apple store

You will be better off buying razer core

But you can't bring a razer core around with you.

I swear Mac mini people are almost cult-like.

So are the MacBook Pro people.....

The iMac is already on Skylake, and Kaby Lake desktop chips don't come out til early next year.

the 21.5" iMac is still on Broadwell

People thinking there is going to be some big keynote. Going to be sooo disappointed, would be the shortest Apple Keynote ever..
[doublepost=1474991259][/doublepost]
Forgot about that one! Why didn't they update it last year? Wonder if they'll update it next month or wait for KB.

If i recall correctly there was no Skylake variant of the chip used in the 21.5 inch.

quick question.

If you apply for financing barclay thing...do you have to wait till a Credit card is sent to you? or can you buy right away? I believe they have an instant approval online...wondering to get ready.

thanks a lot.

The 21.5" is kind of a joke. I briefly used one this summer and it seemed incredibly under-powered, particularly in the graphics department. A 4K screen with mediocre graphics doesn't work well. The damn thing overheated just browsing through Photos...
