Problem for me is that I will loose whats left of my credibility if its not released in October.
I stopped 3 people from buying macbook airs, I told them good chances it would be at WWDC, then that it would be at September event. And I almost guaranteed them it would be October.
I am ****ed

Same, haha. I've been telling people this since January of this year.

People thinking there is going to be some big keynote. Going to be sooo disappointed, would be the shortest Apple Keynote ever.

If Apple wanted to impress us they could have a very long keynote:

Mac Mini
Mac Pro
21" iMac
Kaby Lake MBA
Skylake MBPs
New ultra-expensive keyboard to bring Touch Bar support to desktops

But even if only laptops are ready, Apple has a gift of extending keynotes when they want/need to--just have a bunch of third parties demo stuff. With the new touchbar it would be easy--just have Adobe come on stage and demo their touchbar support with Photoshop.

That said, they could easily not hold a keynote and just hold something for the media. Apparently Apple told John Gruber last year that they wanted to move away from October events, but that was probably before these Intel delays...

Doesn't seem likely that Mac Mini or Mac Pro will continue to exist. What would be really cool is a widescreen iMac 21:9 aspect ratio. With some apple magic that can actually make AMD Polaris function nearly as well as the latest Nvidia tech. If they could power a 5k monitor inexplicably, surely they can work magic with AMD?
I am torn between the new Macbook Pro, or iMac, or maybe even getting another Macbook Air which I use now and frankly love the weight and mobility of the thing. Macbook Pro could get smaller and more portable, especially the 13" size, there is a good chance Macbook Air would cease to exist but probably not this year, is that what people are thinking?

Forgot about that one! Why didn't they update it last year? Wonder if they'll update it next month or wait for KB.

They could update it next month to skylake. or to kabylake if they decide to stop using the ones with iris graphics.

but they are probably going to continue to use iris graphics so they will probably wait until q2 2017 to update to kaby lake

If i recall correctly there was no Skylake variant of the chip used in the 21.5 inch.

maybe at the time, I am not sure. but there is a skylake version available now and has been for quite some time. Of what it used in the 21.5"

Also there are plenty of things that will happen at the mac event:

Macbook Pros 13" and 15" - BIG
other mac laptop update possible new air, or 13" rMB.
Mac Mine Update
21.5" iMac Update
external 5k display.
external tb3 display with built in graphics.
new apple keyboard with the oled touch bar.
Talk about apple apps using the oled touch bar
talk about 3rd party apps that use the oled touch bar
re-highlight airpods

unlikely:
apple tv update
iPad updates

Yes.

Though I don't think a Mac Pro would happen, unless apple released a broadwell Mac Pro? or didn't update the CPU
and kabylake CPUs suitable for MacBook air are not ready. won't be until like march 2017

I'm not sure anyone is expecting a large-scale event. I'll take another Let Us Loop You In event at Town Hall. It was a solid hour. They said that event was likely to be the last event at that location, but they could have it at a smaller auditorium in the area.

Yes, I only see a MP update happening if they give it a redesign. Perhaps nobody wanted a trash can with a nest of wires, so they're going back to PCI slots. I don't think it's likely but it'd explain the lack of updates.

quick question.

If you apply for financing barclay thing...do you have to wait till a Credit card is sent to you? or can you buy right away? I believe they have an instant approval online...wondering to get ready.

thanks a lot.
You can buy right away, if you are instantly approved

guys do you think the 27' iMacs will be updated? if not ill just buy the current one tomorrow

I mean its possible Apple could be updating the graphics to a new AMD Polaris GPU. but it wouldn't be much of an update. So probably not. I would say buy your iMac.

If you need the power of a new MBP now to make some money with (business, designer whatever), why don't you buy the current models?
Because it's not a good investment.
And because I don't want to waste my money.
Aaaand because i expected it a lot earlier, unfortunately.

Im just waiting for reviews to see if its working out well. Or if I need to wait till gen.2.
Things that could mean a no-buy for me are more like:
Worse battery life, increasing hardware costs, way too less ports, bad performance at all.

Unless for battery and ports, that could happen (but I honestly don't think so, as battery can only but improve, or at least stay the same, I doubt Apple want to jeopardize again one of its more valuable products, downgrading it.

Nevertheless I dont think Apple will ruine the new MBP. But I would suggest to wait for some reviews, just to be sure about what u pay for.

Problem with waiting is that could mean wait for who-know-how-many months again.

I made the following list of last events:

sep 7, 2016 Wednesday
jun 13, 2016 Monday
mar 21, 2016 Monday
sep 9, 2015 Wednesday
jun 8, 2015 Monday
mar 9, 2015 Monday
oct 16, 2014 Tuesday
sep 9, 2014 Tuesday
jun 2, 2014 Monday
oct 22, 2013 Tuesday
sep 10, 2013 Tuesday
jun 10, 2013 Monday

So Monday-Wednesday is pretty much a given. Monday seems to be reserved for WWDC or march events. October events all (twice) happen on tuesday. Wednesday seems to be reserved for september events.

Place your bets gentlemen! I guess 11, 18, or 25!

PS. I hope I got all the dates correct...

Note that November is of course possible but unprecedented.

This piece of art deserve a proper museum.
I can feel the anger and the frustration of the awaiting, as the obsession of the artist.
It looks like a mix between Mondrian, Van Gogh and Pollock.
Congratulations, man.

You should check out the "Mac Mini is almost definitely coming" thread.

I know, and I feel their pain.
Just the title is making my laughing/crying.
"Is almost definitely coming. Right guys? ...right? please?"
:D

I swear Mac mini people are almost cult-like.

True, they are our truly warriors, the Highlanders, but what about Mac Pro users then?
1013 days without a f/ucking single rumor or information about it.
Good lord.
I feel sorry for all of them...

Unsure about online but you can get instant approval (or rejection) if you go into an Apple Store to buy an item

By @theitsage in the Apple Seeds Second macOS Sierra 10.12.1 Beta to Developers-thread.

@nollic beat me to it :)

As of 10.12.1 Beta 1, RX 470/480 work great inside a tower Mac Pro and eGPU for Mac laptops with Thunderbolt.

Man, I am jones'ing for an announcement! I keep checking MacRumors all the time in hopes of getting something new! I really, really need a new MBP to aid in my work as a full-time photographer that is also doing an increased amount of 4K 60 fps while on assignments.

Well, in a couple of days I'm headed out in the field on a 3-week assignment and will be completely consumed. I'll still be checking every time I come across cell reception and will hopefully see some good news and subsequently place an order.

Fingers crossed, exciting times!
