You know, I'm very much looking forward to the new mbp but I'm not fond of dongles, especially not dongles with small connectors. I have to use a micro hdmi to hdmi dongle on my current ultrabook and because the connector is so tiny and the cable heavy, it loosened up the port and is not giving a good contact anymore.
I kinda dislike the dongle life and having to think which dongle not to forget. I dislike it so much I'm thinking of getting the 2015 mbp, but every time I think of buying, the price reminds me I should not. Prices haven't once been lowered in my country since release a year and a half ago and there aren't any refurbs available, ever. Also I can't buy second hand as I prefer US qwerty and people in my country use azerty as a standard and neighboring countries use international qwerty or qwertz. Sucks.

I agree. Like I said earlier I would have bought a new MBP with my eyes closed in march or June. I've waited so long now that if it has dongles, poor hardware or a bloated price tag, it'll make it easier not to buy. Let's see though. I'm still excited to see what they announce. I want to be blown away (in a good way).

The 13" model probably won't come with a dGPU mate. Iris 550 Pro only is the best guess.

Yup, it'll be the Iris 550 (or 540 if they use 15w chips :(). The only dedicated GPU that might fit in the 13" thermal envelope would be a 930m class, which has WORSE performance than the Iris 550.

So who will get what ?
Assuming the choice of standard models being:
  1. base 13"
  2. up 13" model
  3. base 15" (iGPU)
  4. up 15" model (dGPU)
I hesitate between 2, 3, and 4

13 inch. Probably won't bother upgrading RAM or going above 256gb SSD. Will use my iMac for anything that requires discrete graphics or a multi core processor.

But it is. You're thinking of this page: http://www.apple.com/ca/macos/sierra/

I know that it also shows the same information under the rMB and Air product lines, but to see them all running Sierra without a hardware refresh seems odd to me.
It's a page dedicated to MacOS accessed through the MacBook Pro features. There's a 12" MacBook on the page as well. I really don't think people should read too much into that page.

So many combinations :) But I don't think apple will offer gold and rose gold color options for mbp, it just doesn't seem like it's gonna happen to me. I do think they'll add a space gray or matte gray option.

True, I forgot about the colors. That does multiply things a bit.

Weird. They added the Sierra wallpaper to the cMBP, but the rMBPs still have flowers. All have Sierra on the buy page.

Can't wait to pick up my cMBP with Sierra!!

Actually what this probably means is that Apple is just waiting to release the new MBPs with up-to-date Sierra wallpapers, so they don't need to change the wallpapers on the current ones :)

Did Nvidia and Apple make up?

Looks like it, very much a down the road thing though. The job vacancies have only just been p[osted by Nvidia.

Probably right. Probably to avoid having to change it again when the new models are out.

Well boys, I'm off to ACL music fest for the weekend. Hopefully we'll get another update Monday or Tuesday and have them in our hands before Halloween. Have a great weekend. Don't over refresh this thread.

Every time this guy posts I imagine it actually being Bill Gates, like he's really looking forward to the next mbp or something. lol

My old MacBook Pro 17" Early 2008 died in the beginning of the year, so I'm more than ready for a new one. I like my Windows 10 desktop for power and my iPad Pro for at lot of other things, but I need to work on the road with Adobe InDesign amongst other non-iPad stuff, so just release them already, thanks! I'm going to die, if the 15" wont to out before the beginning of next year, but I don't think that will happen.
[doublepost=1475160944][/doublepost]... Oh, and I would love a nVidia GPU like the 1060 or even rumored 1050, but I guess we will have to do with AMD this turn.

I'm thinking that I will probably go without the dGPU unless they put in some really juicy stuff from AMD. o_O

The Macbook Air also has the new Sierra wallpaper, and there are rumors the MB Air will also be refreshed in October so that would be weird.

Maybe because the MBP will look completely different but the design of MB and MBA remain as they are today.

Yes but I doubt that the Air is going to get a total redesign, I think more likely it will get USB C ports and a bump to Skylake, meaning they can probably use the same marketing images own the website. The MacBook Pro is likely to look different meaning new images would be required.
