I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'll really want some verification that the Flash drive can be upgraded and aren't soldered on before ordering. That would be a deal-breaker.
Maybe because the MBP will look completely different but the design of MB and MBA remain as they are today.
SSD maybe, but there's very little chance they will go back to non-soldered RAM.I'm cautiously optimistic, but I'll really want some verification that the Flash drive can be upgraded and aren't soldered on before ordering. That would be a deal-breaker.
Weird. They added the Sierra wallpaper to the cMBP, but the rMBPs still have flowers. All have Sierra on the buy page.
Can't wait to pick up my cMBP with Sierra!!
I look forward to your thread about waiting for the next release. That should be fun for another 10,000 pagesI look forward to reading about your 1st gen issues folks, that'll be good for another 1000 pages
Nope.Am I the only one who never ever uses an MBP with an external display?

Actually wondered the same thing. Where would they put the esc key if it's not simulated on the oled bar?

If that is the chip we will be seeing in the MacBook, it's kind of underwhelming even for a Polaris 11. ~4000 fire strike score vs ~5000 in the desktop RX 460. I wonder if that is the result of throttling, or if it will throttle down to even lower performance than that?Behold, your new dGPU in Macbook Pro 15 inch:

Good evening folks,
I'm a bit out of the loop in terms of rumored specs for the high-end 15-inch Pros. How do we anticipate they will do at gaming through Bootcamp? I love Macs for daily use, and would also enjoy being able to play modern games at 1080p on medium settings if at all possible.
I think i'm going iMac, unless the MBPs somehow turn out to be REVOLUTIONARY
GTX 1060 for MBP
your last guess may work actually.. 1060 pages by Oct. I think you will be RIGHT!
.. will, i guess wrong anyway![]()
Any guess what GPU of the MBP 13" will be? I'd be happy with RX 460M.
I'm looking forward to buying a new laptop, and if I'm spending $1500, I'd expect the new machine to be more powerful than my previous piece. My current ASUS laptop which I bought for 600 bucks 2 years ago has Geforce 840M which is only marginally weaker than the Iris Pro 6200.
If the new card will be only 20-25% more powerful than the Iris 6100, it won't cut it for me (not a hardcore gamer, but I like to play games here and there). Might as well go grab the MacBook 12 for portability and start ordering desktop parts.

I don't like it...
The cMBP would be a great machine if they actually bothered to update it. i5-6287U, 256GB SATA SSD, 8GB RAM, Thunderbolt 3/USB-C and a 1440x900 IPS screen as standard for $899-$999 would make it an excellent machine.Weird. Haha, my FedEx/UPS is sporadic. Either it comes pristine, or it is heavily damaged. I think I'll go with the custom config shipping from China to store. Hopefully, it's shProbably be quicker tbh. I know here in Boston/Dorchester, the UPS/FedEx are pretty good about package care, even making a special trip after hours delivering my 2012 iMac way back when. But I understand a lot of places have issues (former friend once ordered a new toilet from Amazon and they left it in pieces in Brooklyn on her front steps. lol).
If they did this, there wouldn't be much differentiation from the rMBP other than the retina screen, so Apple would cannibalize its own rMBP sales which in *your* scenario would have a HUGE margin of profit over the cMBP because the retina screen alone would be a ~$400 profit. Nobody would justify the 50% price jump to the rMBP if the internals of the cMBP are almost the same. The cMBP would be a great machine if they actually bothered to update it. i5-6287U, 256GB SATA SSD, 8GB RAM, Thunderbolt 3/USB-C and a 1440x900 IPS screen as standard for $899-$999 would make it an excellent machine.
So is this the card we're realistically expecting? Notebook check says the card is slightly faster than a 960MIf that is the chip we will be seeing in the MacBook, it's kind of underwhelming even for a Polaris 11. ~4000 fire strike score vs ~5000 in the desktop RX 460. edit: still faster than the firepro M6100 in my BBW Precision M6800
(big beautiful workstation)
edit 2: WAIT A MINUTE that's the exact same info AMD put out in a press release months ago and we haven't seen any other benchmarks for this chip at all.

Most of us think that if this card is indeed 35w tdp *and* if the mbp is getting a dgpu at all, we will be seeing this chip in the 15".So is this the card we're realistically expecting? Notebook check says the card is slightly faster than a 960M
