Yeah, this thread is not the first place to look for rumors about the new MBPs. If anything substantial and well-sourced appears, it will appear on the MacRumors front page news feed. Most of the time, it's posted there before it's posted here anyway. This thread is essentially a hangout spot for people who are waiting for the new MBP (hence the thread's title). Some of that is discussing the rumors that do appear, but given the long time between actual rumors, and the fact that many of the posters in this thread have been posting for hundreds of pages and are still waiting, there will be a lot of other discussion going on as well.

Really? Do you have a local Apple fan club by your place? Cause I don't. Though to be honest I wouldn't head out for that anyway lol. Easier to do so at home.

BTW, MACrumors.com ironically has almost no Mac rumors. Doesn't mean we shouldn't come to the site. Also, you're on a FORUM. The definition of which is to talk about a topic. This thread's topic is waiting, and as previously mentioned, you shoot the breeze while waiting. I guarantee, the moment a legit rumor pops up that's all we'll all be talking about. But the last rumor was an image of the chassis from a few months ago.

Waiting for skylake ... where friends are made and records are broken (here's to page 2k).
The last rumor was that kabylake imac that popped up on bestbuy. Honestly, what is there even to talk about in this thread besides rumors and news? if you want to find people to talk to just go outside

Anyways, i am contributing to my own complaints by posting so much. peace

Forum poster telling people to go outside...pot, have you met kettle? Kettle, pot.

What's there to talk about? Have you not read the past 1000 pages? All indispensable gold. Every bit of it.

EDIT: I am being snarky in some of my comments, but I am only defensive of this thread because I do enjoy posting in it so much. The rumors are discussed plenty when they come out, but in the interim we're going to talk to about whatever, and I don't think that's a probelm as long as we're not breaking the site rules.

Some people take stuff way too seriously...

If you want front-page rumors, then go to the FRONT PAGE. I posted the KabyLake iMac thing here because I got it from the front page of appleinsider.com. The thread is named "Waiting for Skylake MBP thread". NOT "Skylake MBP News thread". Nothing actually dictates that we share news here. Not even the title. We are all literally WAITING FOR SKYLAKE.

It's really not a hard concept. We're in the general vicinity of Macbook Pros, but every online forum goes off-topic once in a while...as if that's a bad thing. That's the funny part.

I remember when MBP-imitations first started showing up in the early 2010s (this was when I was in middle school and looking for a new Windows laptop and couldn't find any I liked). They all had the rounded edges, mostly silver, minimalist design (for a PC) and yet had terrible trackpads and crummy TN panels. So it's hard for me to see something by another company that resembles an Apple product and not think it's going to be some poorer-quality imitation. I'm sure the Pixel is a decent phone, but it looks almost more like playing catch-up to Apple than something actually innovative. At least we can say other companies aren't necessarily wowing people with innovative designs at the moment :p

I honestly don't even want the design of the new MBP to change much. Just want that wide-gamut display most of all...
You eating memberberries over there?

No, as you can clearly see some people are just sick of having to scroll through tons of useless pages, filled with off-topic stuff and even worse pictures that have absolutely nothing to do with the discussed topic at all. If you think it's fun wasting your time by scrolling through 8 pages on your phone, more power to you...others and I don't. If people want to socialize there is a community part on this forum, do it there for crying out loud.

Thankfully the moderators seem to agree with the people that are looking for topic related stuff!

I think the MBP is fine as it is, smaller bezels and a bigger screensize while keeping the 13 inch form factor would be coll but other than that I don't think it needs a drastic re-design.

So literally please list what part of your argument was an actual response to any of my points. The NAME of this thread is "Waiting for Skylake MBP thread". I've already told you, NOTHING in the thread title dictates that this is a news thread. If you want breaking news news, there's {MacRumors.com, appleinsider.com, cultofmac.com, 9to5mac.com} front pages whose sole existences are to provide news for Macs, iPhones, iPads, etc. THIS, however, is a thread named Waiting for Skylake MBP, and it's undeniable we are all WAITING for Skylake. Does it say we need to talk about serious news anywhere in the thread title?

Am I waiting for Skylake MBP? check

Am I confined to only discuss news because of your inherent bias towards thinking this is somehow a "waiting for skylake mbp news thread? Nope

Once I figured out what this thread was, it became a coping mechanism more than anything lol.

Frank Grimes, or "Grimey", as you like to be called, the majority of the posts in this thread are still at least somehow related to the upcoming Mac anyway; it's not as if we have pages of discussion about people's cats. Most of the posts are speculation about the Mac (or Apple in general) or people venting frustration about the lack of said Mac. And to be honest a lot of the "on topic" talk is an endless loop about what processors they'll have and what the release date is without any new information. Or this meta discussion about what the thread should be. To be honest, as soon as I see the word "Kaby" in a post, I tend to just skip over it because this is a Skylake thread--stay on topic!

I hate that with Sid Meier's Railroad after upgrading to El Capitan. Couldn't do nothing until the app or whatever was updated.
Well this is a little different.

This is: if the App was pre-MacApp Store, before certificates, AND any developers who don't want to sign up for a certificate, it's pretty much DEAD. BUT I think Apple has a secret list of some sort, for some let's just say, "whitelisted" companies. Because, I have gotten some pre-MacApp Store to work, but they are like Adobe Level.

It's a little tricky... just put it this way Y'ALL have been warned...

Basically in a NUT SHELL

You will have to "JAILBREAK" YOUR MAC. Trust me... but you'll still get to be like a regular Mac vs iPhones...

I am going to ADD THIS:
this link:
http://www.iphonehacks.com/2016/09/fix-macos-sierra-problems.html

Supposedly has a better fix, for if you can't upgrade the app, but it's mainly like you have to upgrade that app.

But here is the thing, you download some old app off of a site, and it gives you this App is Damaged, then you have to go thru this whole cache clearing p-ram zap fix BS for EACH APP you just one day download, and get a warning? WOW that's gonna suck, how much?

I don't even want to restart my MacPro right now and I don't want to P-RAM Zap etc to get the App, I have just been trashing them or the dmg...

But I guess if you need the App bad enough you'll try this every time if it works...

Good Luck...

I think it's just because your computer knows you already have ran those applications in the past.

Third party suppliers are given release dates weeks in advance. There have been instances of carriers accidentally leaking iPhone release dates.

Carriers are in a different position because they sell the phones bundled with their plans - and the iPhone release dates have not exactly been hard to predict in recent years.

guys (nonEnglish guys :D) i have a question.. i'm planing to order the coming new MBP online from US store as soon as they start the pre-order. now at the "Keyboard and Documentation" section you can change the languages to whatever your language is. If i choose other language than English will they still print English next to the language i choose? I suppose English will be printed anyway but I just want to be sure.. will there be two languages printed on the keyboard or only the language you choose?

I'm not sure, though another option is to buy a different-language keyboard cover: these usually have both languages printed on them.

As a shareholder, it's pretty obvious where they should focus their attention. They can sell more phones at a higher gross margin and also generate additional revenue from the myriad of services tied to these devices.

That's only true if a company has limited resources, in other words if Tim has to CHOOSE between developing a new iPhone or a new MBP. However, he is sitting on billions in cash and can afford to develop both, and both product lines are yielding good returns for investors. There is no excuse for the lack of effort in the Mac line.

Are you speaking only of the keyboard? In which case, if the language you select is in Roman characters, only the language selected will be printed. If it's a non-Roman language (eg. Arabic or Japanese), both languages will be printed on the keyboard.

No chance at all for both.

I also don't think we will see a 17" rMBP. But it would be cool to see a resolution bump to the new 13" and 15" rMBP. At least Apple should up the resolution to 1650x1080. A 4k Screen would be even better.

Don't think a 17 inch pro is a possibility, if anything I think they will scale down the Mac line up. I could see it being scaled back to iMacs for the desktop option and MacBook and MacBook Pro for notebooks. We're yet to hear anything credible about the Mac Pro or the Mini, it doesnt look good for them.

Cheers. Makes sense. How about Apple introducing a mobile workstation line that's a bit thicker and has more hardware in it to compete with Windows variants. That market is penetrated by HP by my last observation. They make a workstation for just about any field.

I'm all for that.

Macbook Pro 13"
Macbook Pro 15"
Macbook Pro 17" Workstation

Now just sort out the Air/Macbook thing and all is good.

The irony is that Frank Grimes is literally acting and posting like how that character from The Simpsons would...
oh the ****ing irony, can't stop laughing till tomorrow. That guy even for a sitcom spoke a lot of truth

Anyhow I'm done discussing this nonsense the mods seem to agree with the people who know what this thread is for.
