I'm all for that.

Macbook Pro 13"
Macbook Pro 15"
Macbook Pro 17" Workstation

Now just sort out the Air/Macbook thing and all is good.
And it being Apple, no one would bat an eye if they charged a premium than what HP charges. HP may charge around $4,200 for a full out mobile workstation and Apple could very well charge $5,000 and it'll sell like hotcakes.

i7 4 Ghz processor
32 GB of RAM
500 GB SSD
Ports galore
Discreet AMD FirePro or NVidia Quadro card
4K IPS display
extra

This would be great for me as a laptop that sits behind the monitor 80% of the time, but is there when needed as a 'portable', which is how I currently use my underpowered 15".

Back to the upcoming color options. I hope they wont offer the Jetblack version.
Take a look at this article: https://9to5mac.com/2016/10/04/review-jet-black-apple-mouse-keyboard-colorware-iphone-7/

Who wants fingerprints all over the keyboard and mouse?? Doh

it's annoying having to click through tons of OT to find something at least usable.

Its just really annoying seeing people talking nonsense

Funny, that's exactly the same thought I had while reading the last 5 pages just to find you two complaining about useless posts.
Now, where are the rumors?

I think it's just because your computer knows you already have ran those applications in the past.
That's true there is a "past - i.e. - el capitan" already ran/launched verified.

So the hack is going have to be some kinda of patch that writes an "already ran" flag... will see

Man I am glad I got my 2015/15 whew... :p haha just playin'

I would LOVE something like this!
I don't care if its the thinnest or longest lasting battery, I'm more interested in a powerful machine that can be moved around if needed

I fear there is ZERO chance that will ever happen.
Thin is the new powerful you know?

Re previous comments on MediaMarkt MBP stock, I have been following other shops in the Netherlands. For CoolBlue (a major Dutch on-line retailer for electronics), stocks are reducing for the custom models. Basic models still seem widely available.

I agree, it will never happen :(
However, when I'm sat there waiting for things to finish processing I will think to myself.... it doesn't matter that it takes longer, its thinner!

Why would Apple change the date, and not simply have the Mac keynote on the Tuesday and the earnings call on the Thursday? I don’t think there’s any great mystery there: Apple doesn’t want its shiny new Mac launch to be overshadowed by what are likely to be disappointing iPhone sales.

Don't agree on this point. New macs won't shut down the voices over "bad numbers".
BTW it is not a rumor, just an opinion/guess by the author.

Plus: Apple prepares launches and calls month(s) ahead. So they knew what was coming. They announced the call on September 26th. Enough time to get numbers for the phone sales. And the new Macs are in pipeline for months. So no.. I don't agree with the author.

Yes, the watch bands are delayed. As you can see on my avatar icon, this is serious business for me. Enough reason for Apple to postpone!

As the date was changed only very few dates after the original announcement, something spontaneously must have happened.

Man im just saying theres a lot better place where you could socialize rather than some thread on macRUMORS.com
To be fair, the thread is called "Waiting for Skylake". You have to admit, the thread is delivering pretty much as advertised.

That's only true if a company has limited resources, in other words if Tim has to CHOOSE between developing a new iPhone or a new MBP. However, he is sitting on billions in cash and can afford to develop both, and both product lines are yielding good returns for investors. There is no excuse for the lack of effort in the Mac line.
Except resources are finite, and attention at the top level of the company is certainly finite. Steve Jobs understood this, and kept Apple to a reasonably tight set of products. My concern is that as the company gets into more areas, it's hard to do a great job on everything. Rumoured thousands of people working on an Apple car for example must suck a lot of air out of the room.

Think my wait is over chaps. Honestly after the problems i've had with the iPhone 7 and iOS 10 i dont think I trust Apple to release something that isn't an absolute hot mess, as I'm reliant on it professionally I don't think i'll chance it. Hope they arrive soon guys and they are worth the wait.

At least you have your iPhone. I am still waiting, despite being told i should get it at release. Most horrible rollout ever. I don't have a good feeling for this rollout, seeing as they cant forecast correctly, we probably will wait months before anything new ships.

What were the problems you were facing out of curiosity.

If you want straight up news feeds or rumor roundups, go here or here as these are populated by those whose job it is to find solid rumors and news.

We speculate, sometimes wildly, here. We fantasize and have fun. We share things that might be loosely related to the product we're waiting for, because it makes the long wait easier. You don't wait for hours in a line to ride a rollercoaster and just talk about the ride you're about to go on. You talk about some other things to pass the time.

This thread is a rarity, as nearly everyone here is incredibly helpful, supportive, and welcoming. I don't care if you started the thread or joined yesterday; you're a part of this.

I'm sure we've bent the rules a bit, but the moderators have allowed us to do our thing. This thread has created a sort of subculture within MacRumors, and it's a really awesome thing to be a part of every day. It's made me a proud and lasting member of this site's community.

This is interesting but totally unrelated to the central theme of this forum. What I see is that people with a shared interest got together on a virtual platform and over time the strength of the online congregation increased to reflect the social structures in the offline world! Designated experts emerged as did scammers. An unsaid code of conduct began getting enforced and deletion of posts by moderators mirror the role of governments in the real world. Even more interesting was the reaction to the warnings and actions by the moderators. While some acquiesced others protested, again mirroring offline societies.
It seems that despite not knowing each other personally, despite being spread all over the globe, across time zones, despite having different realities, this forum has now begun approximating the age-old social order. This then leads me to believe that whether offline or online or even a new planet, wherever we go, the emergence of such social structures is inevitable.
Apologies for digressing!

What were the problems you were facing out of curiosity.

First one was the lightning EarPods the inline controls stopped working, I think they fixed that with a software update and now Bluetooth connectivity is completely broken. I'm now on my second phone which won't connect to anything over bluetooth, Apples answer was to provide a replacement phone which takes over a week to arrive and then had exactly the same issue.

Its an iOS 10 thing there have been numerous reports of people even using older devices running 10 with the same problems. They clearly dont want to admit that there is an issue, but then again when you've removed the headphone jack from a phone and all of the alternatives dont work properly I can see why.

Poor form given that they've hiked the price by £80 in the UK, anyway this one is going back for a refund.

Glad to see most of us are on the same page on this subject. I'm sure the 27th is a possibility but it just seems highly unlikely that Apple would accidentally schedule their earnings call on the same day they plan to reveal new products. Not to mention, Apple usually does their events on Tuesdays anyway. It would have made more sense for them to hold the event on the 25th and keep the earnings call on the 27th.

For now, I'm sticking to my prediction I posted a few pages back: I'm thinking we'll see invites go out later this week or the first half of next week and the event will be either on Tuesday October 18th or Thursday October 20th. Hopefully I won't be made into a fool by that prediction.

If we don't see an event by the 20th, then maybe Apple will just do a more silent launch with a press release and possibly a very small hands on event for the press in the area. I just can't see them pushing the event into November.

Im thinking the same timeframe for the event also. They could also be using this event to launch iOS 10.1, watchOS 3.1, macOS sierra 10.12.1 along with the new macs.
