We were already at 11 hours with the Retina MBP. 10 hours with the current rMacBook. So it's safe to say that we should be hitting 12-13 hours with the new MBP, which is half a day and for most people more than a working day.
rMB = approx. 5200 mAH
10 hours
MBP = approx. 8800 mAH
Therefore around 17 hours based on the battery tech in the rMB.
However this was based on a linear approximation, and ignoring any increase or decrease for battery capacity and factoring in larger screen, more straining CPU for the 13 should all cut into that estimate, so ill say 12-13 hours, given that the current rMBP gives 11.
I believe there will be some sort of bezel reduction. They've all stated that there will be a footprint reduction, and I don't believe the only place it'll come from is thinness height wise.
Any UK members out there, worth noting CostCo have a rMBP 13" offer on right now on the home page which ends on 9th Oct. Fitting with the trend of clearing out current model stock.
13'' definitely sells better than the 15''. However mainly industry professionals such as graphic artists buy the 15''. Students like myself usually tend to go towards the 13''. And thats why I think that it may be possible, like the iPhone 7's dual camera, iPhone 6 Plus' OIS...that the 15'' may have this feature as a "Plus Pro" feature if that makes sense. And as industry professionals prefer the 15'', an OLED Bar that changes according to application (e.g. PhotoShop, Illustrator, Lightroom) will be far more useful, applicable to them.
Just my $ 0.02 on this.
I prefer a 14''. Middleground works best. Hopes went up when Apple released a 12'' rMB. But noone knows if a 12/14/16 will happen or not.
Honestly, I wouldn't care if they'd offer them in Blue Dalmatian and Flower Power if they would release anything at all.All this talk about processors and battery, can't we talk about the important things like what colors it will come in?

Hi,
I've been reading this thread since page 1, but never posted here though.
I came across this article. Basically, Kaby Lake HD620 seems to perform better than Skylake Iris 540.
I know these chip are not for the macbook pro but, well, that's still another information for the macbook air.

When I saw he MBP has a battery life of 8800 mAh I thought that can't possibly be right. The iPhone 7+ has 2750...
But yeah, that's about what it's rated at. 3 7+ batteries? That seems way too small for some reason.
Well I need some talking down. I am running a Macbook Pro Late 2008 and I am trying to finish my PhD dissertation. This machine has been through it all with me, but it definitely is on its last legs. I just do not know if I can hold out anymore. Trying to type chapter 4 up and it is excruciatingly slow. I am also getting highly skeptical that we will see a Mac refresh this year as the rumors seem to have stopped regarding an October event. I would love to pick up the Macbook Pro 2015, but I just cannot justify that much money for a Haswell processor, despite that it will handle my work flow. Luckily I ran all my statistics on a Mac Pro 2012, but that computer is no longer available to me. So, do we realistically think there will be an event in October? Judging by no rumors of an event space being booked by Apple, and the new campus not being ready, do we really think this is happening anymore?
You can just buy the MacBook Pro now, or just get a cheap Windows laptop, and sell it later when the new MacBook Pro comes out.
If I were you, I'd rather focus more on finishing the dissertation than caring if the MacBook Pro has a Haswell or Skylake chip...
Well I need some talking down.
Yes, I do think it is happening this month. Take a look at these screenshots. I think I can say that these are the biggest retailers of The Netherlands. And almost all configurations are sold out. This has been posted before, and I to took some screenshots to show you guys. The text below the price tag says: "This article is sold out online. Ask in store for availability." and "Temporarily sold out."Well I need some talking down. I am running a Macbook Pro Late 2008 and I am trying to finish my PhD dissertation. So I think the Macbook is coming soon. And the Dutch retailers are expecting it too.
This is completely inaccurate... Please name one instance where Apple has given two weeks notice. They almost always do five days to a week of advance notice.I too am not convinced we'll see an October event date. However, I also think that it early to make that call. If we do not see an invite by the 14th you can rule out an event this month. Apple usually gives the press two weeks to plan their event trip.

That does not mean Apple won't do a silent update by the end of the month. Apple has lost significant interest in their computing platform since Jobs passed away so I could easily see this happening. Personally, I would prefer them to just do a new product dump so we can all move on with our lives. I don't see the point of a product event when it is clear Apple's focus is on other products.
I think many of us want to see what Apple is going to do before we either buy or jump ship. Personally, I think there are some great notebooks on the market that easily compare or beat the MBP. If Apple pulls another '2015 MBP release' I think many people will jump ship.
Don't pull the trigger on the 2015 MBP. It was outdated when it was launched and is an embarrassment to Apple at this point.
Good Luck!

This, from my experience. I'm the only one with a 15" laptop (but that's because I like to play video games). Most of my schoolmates are either rocking 13" MBAs or 13" Win laptops. Much cheaper, and easier to carry around. Not many people can afford ~$2000 for a base 15" MBP, and not that most can make use of the extra power.
