Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

2. There will be a new 13 inch MacBook, wich is not called Air anymore.

3. But the pro may only come with the silver color.
4. 15'' pro will be realeased with the AMD polaris.
5. iMac will update its processors.
6. MacBook Pro will come with skylake chip.
7. The touch pad of MacBook Pro will probably support Apple Pencil and the Dynamic Function Row will come with both 13'' and 15''.
Bad news here:
no news about Mac Mini, Mac Pro

Well if this ends up being true, this is what I was predicting all along as far as the lineup goes (i.e. no more Air, and likely discontinuing the Mac Mini and Mac Pro as well). The rest would be pretty ideal if true (Apple Pencil support sounds nice) but I guess we'll see...

VISLAN if you are correct in the long run then I will always depend on you, thanks for the hope. Also just checked with my homie in Romania and they said it's all true (lol).

Because of the policy of Apple, no one will reveal their sources. And the source are multiple from a Chinese fanatic, so I guess some of the information are from workers. Just relax about this sentence and Note what I said, I'm not responsible for all my words.

If SMART does show no errors and does not fail, you have no guarantee that your drive will not fail. But if it shows errors and / or fails, you can rest assured that it indeed failed / is failing and should be replaced immediately.

HDD drops inflict mechanical damage, most probably the reading head gets banged on the spinning platter. However, drives do have a free fall sensor to put the reading head in parking position. If that happened, you may have been lucky and nothing happened. If there is mechanical damage to the platter, then an extended SMART test will most probably find it.

So my advice would be (as I said): Do the extended test. If it fails, replace the drive. If it does not fail, be prepared that it may fail any minute (do backups!), but keep on using it as it might be alright and the money spend on the replacement could be unnecessary.
 
And the previous 24th event date was true before apple moved their earnings call. As the earnings call is moved to 25th, the event is moved to 20th. I think that there are multiple reasons for Apple to change their schedule. But I think 20th is a quite reasonable date, and the rest of the rumors seems quite reasonable too. And I noticed no sign of my rumors here. So I brought what I heard from Chinese forum here. So don't blame me on something wrong because I just want to make this thread active again! And I have no idea of who Serban is, so don't mention that thing....

Guys, I think this is Serban posting. Look how he's forcing us to believe he's Chinese, the other chinese dude never did that.

Wow things are escalating quickly in here !
Let's keep calm and wait for an invite ... at this point i feel like everybody is just playing the guessing game.

The thing is, some people on here, including myself, have been waiting for more than a year. I've been waiting, foolishly I may add, since last August. Then someone like Serban comes along, gets us excited and then trolls us. Thats a wave of emotions that can be tiring, so from now on, many of us here do get really critical of information. Mostly we tend to ignore it.

It's fine, he doesn't claim to know everything. He's just reiterating what he's read on a Chinese forum full of MBP fans, just like us. We're literally talking about China(i'm chinese american), data frameworks/jobs and such in a private conversation together, lol.

I think that is a good class of you guys and have your own mind and decision of the information you get is important in life. But as I said, you can suspect what I said because I said those are rumors. But you guys don't need to criticize about who I am. I should say being fooled before is really sad, and I don't want to do that kind of stupid thing. So it will be only a few days to see whether I'm kidding or not....

Of course not. I was just saying how I'm also chinese, and that it's pretty cool how they also have forums with people waiting for MBPs, and sporadic topics emerged from there about job opportunities/studies, etc.
 
Oh man I do not want a 13/14 inch regular Macbook...I always loved the Air's ports. I'll probably get the new 13" Pro then.
