You know what would be great, a black, and I mean an actual black powder coated MBP reminiscent of the old black polycarbonate shelled Macs of the mid 2000s with the matte finish. I loved those so much.

so tired of waiting, let's play the game again, guess which page we will hit when the Apple invitation is finally sent out ?
I guess 1150, lol.

Personally I'm glad those were left in the last decade :p

Still have my 17" early 2011 as per my sig. Going to get a Caldigit Thunderbolt 1 (or 2 to put one foot in the past and one in the future) Station to add USB 3.0 and I am happy for another couple of years...

***** is wrong with you guys, why are you giving him such a hard time?
The last 800 pages everyone complains that there are no rumors, now some dude from a Chinese site shows up and provides some, even labels them as rumors and not facts but wants to contribute and all he's getting is bs from all of you, he even needs to explain himself.
Suck it up, haters.

12" 4.5W CPU, super light
13" 15W CPU, TB3

I am very interested to see what this turns out to be as it could be the right computer for me over the 13" MBP, but we will see.
Dont want to swear on the Skylake thread, but this will be Kabylake [if it happens].

The lure of the OLED bright colours may sway me to the MBP like a stupid moth to light

I agree - poor guy got it. I think there has been so much disappointment on this thread that no one believes anyone now.
Take it all with a grain of salt:)

It's because after all the trolling and non-happenings we judge those news and rumors way more than usual.
So if there is no source included or nothing very new and mainly guessing, people wont be satisfied over here.
Plus: it was not clever to say "because I'm Chinese". Makes the rest of the posting not very much better.

Hey you guys!
###Some exciting news from Chinese forum because I'm a Chinese!###
1. Rumors said that Apple is going to send the invitation on Oct 13 and hold the event on Oct 20!
2. There will be a new 13 inch MacBook, wich is not called Air anymore.
And it will come with 4 colors as the 12 inch MacBook.
3. But the pro may only come with the silver color.
4. 15'' pro will be realeased with the AMD polaris.
5. iMac will update its processors.
6. MacBook Pro will come with skylake chip.
7. The touch pad of MacBook Pro will probably support Apple Pencil and the Dynamic Function Row will come with both 13'' and 15''.
Bad news here:
no news about Mac Mini, Mac Pro
# Note that these are all rumors, so I won't be responsible for my words. But the source is quite reliable since it comes from the workers doing the manufacturing work in China!
# So just be ready for the celebration with new Macs!
[doublepost=1476081655][/doublepost]And I registered an account on Mac Rumors just to bring this Great News to all of you who is waiting for macbooks desperately like me!
Hope you guys have a good October without worrying about the new Macs.
Just save money and stay tuned!:p

How do manufacturing workers know the invite and event dates?

Ha. Exactly as if some Foxconn worker knows what date the keynote is going to be. Would've been halfway believable had they not dropped that in.

They are legally obliged to enter a quiet period before an earnings call. I'm not sure if there are any hard and fast rules on how long but I would be surprised if they announced a host of new Mac products five days beforehand

Who would be amused if Apple *finally* schedules a "let's talk about computers" event on October 27th and subsequently uses it to unveil a range of new iPads and a new productivity powerhouse - the 14 inch MacBook? ;)

Nice try, Tim/Jony.

Hello there Serbfine, enough. sorryThese rumors sound reasonable! Let's wait three more days and see what's happen.
In the meantime, welcome aboard this crew of fools.
:)

edit (as well as the smile)
Guys how did you miss the occasion to point out those beautiful quads?!
That's an opportunity that happens once in a lifetime!
Now we have to reach page 2222, or join the "waiting for Kaby Lake" thread and reach again page 1111...

HAHA These guys are too aggressive now. I just wanna do something good and why I explained I'm from China is that I can read Chinese and translate them in English to you guys who is desperately waiting for some rumors here. The translation is done like a volunteered work, but they make me sad by suspecting I'm someone called Serban.
So again, you all can suspect about what I said but never who I am. That's what I want to say...

You cant go thin and light when it involves heavy duty GPU power. Something gotta give, so it makes sense to give the professional community what they want> GPU power. Hook it up via Thunderbolt 3, and you can fly with either MacBook Pro or iMac. Everyone is happy.
[doublepost=1476017835][/doublepost]Oh, and eGPU is not about gamers. It is about people that work pro with heavy duty video rendering and 3D rendering. They need it.

People who 'work pro with heavy duty video rendering and 3D rendering' won't be using a laptop to do that.

Freelancers who do a bit of 3D and video editing won't fancy carrying an eGPU around as well as a laptop/cables/External HD unless its very small/light...unlike that Razor one...

I just want to make this thread active again!
Are you saying we are not active?
I think we have 1112 pages to show that you are wrong;)
But thanks for telling us what is going on over there:)

I am still going for 1127. So it will be soon

So, I am baffled by the neglect that Apple is showing. At this point, I would not even buy a Skylake laptop, there are already kaby lake laptops out there and I don't really care about some OLED bar. I care about battery life and performance, specially in the rMBP line.

I feel sorry for everybody waiting to buy an already obsolete machine. Bang up job Apple....

What alternatives are there? The only laptop that seems good is the dell xps, but still then. I don't like touch screen on a laptop (I once was a surface pro 4 owner), and sure the xps has the option for non touch, but it's limited to full hd. Also trackpad on windows machines always suck. And hardware troubles.

Cause there's a difference between rumors and fiction.

Anybody got any idea when the desktop Kabylake chips, suitable for the 27 inch iMac are likely to be out?

Intel-2016-Roadmap-635x357.jpg

Intel-2016-2017-Processor-Roadmap-Kaby-Lake-Coffee-Lake-Cannonlake-840x474.jpg

iMac 27" uses S-GT2 (first graphic, S, second line, Kabylake available Q4/16)
iMac 21" uses S-GT4 (first graphic, S, first line, Skylake available Q4/16)
MBP 15" uses H-GT4 (second graphic, H, first line, Skylake supposed to be available since Q2/16, Kabylake not planned at all, Coffee Lake planed Q2/18)
MBP 13" uses U-GT3 (second graphic, U 28w, first line, Kabylake available Q1/17)
MBA both use U-GT3 (second graphic, U 15w, first line, Kabylake available Q1/17)
MB uses Y-GT2 (second graphic, Y, Kabylake available since Q3/16)
MM uses same as 13'' MBP, used to offer same as 15'' MBP till 2012
MP uses Xeon E5 single processor, the 16xx-line. Currently uses Ivy Bridge, Haswell available since Q3/14, Broadwell available since Q2/16. Skylake is due ~Q3/17.

So, a Kabylake 27" iMac does not sound that unreasonable (launch Q4 2016). A Skylake 21" is possible, too. A Kabylake 13" MBP still sounds unreasonable, unless it just arrives in half a year. MBP 15" is still in the complete impossible never realm, unless Apple completely changes the processors it uses. MBA is the same as 13'' MBP, MM too. MB could be updated anytime. Even the MP might get an update.

edited: thought the iMac 27" used H-GT2. corrected.

Dude, don't worry. @WRONG is just the same kind of attention seeker as that guy (Serban) was.
