If the new MacBook Pros don't get announced this month I'm going to find out where Tim Cook lives, rush over to his place and......show him the link to this thread so he can see how many people he has turned into madmen for not having released the new MacBook Pros yet.

It's either that, or kidnapping him to the macrumors™ headquarters for interrogation with the help of Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo so that we can release some juicy info about the macs to keep people from going completely insane heheh

leave the thread for a little while and things get crazy.

think I'll start making some popcorn...thread is getting interesting.

Eventually, of course, lack of an announcement will cause a normal investor to change their position on the company's stock.;)

No investor is going to be very worried about the Mac line. I personally wouldn't be selling Apple shares even if Apple never updated the Mac again. I'm a Mac user, I love the Mac, and I hope they do refresh them soon, but the future of the company is not the Mac.

I am very curious about EU/UK prices for the new model. Thanks to Brexit I grabbed the 2015 model really cheap, and the price is still unchanged (I think?) on Apple website, but I'm pretty sure the new MBP will skyrocket in price here. Unless Apple decide to go for volume rather than margins, but this happens approximately never.

They increased some iPads by £50 last month, and prices of everything else from iPhone to bands. Since then, the pound has crashed even lower so I wouldn't be surprised if new Macs will be £100-£150 more expensive over there. Proportionally they cost much more than iPad so the increase will probably be at least double of iPad, and then the new UK Pound lows could add even more to the price increase.

I know. but i read a lot about this coming event.. there is almost no chance we will see a new serfuce pro 5 in it. BUT if it happened I still can return mine and get the 5. I bought the 4 now because of the $200 discount on Amazon. really nice offer.. it was $900 and now only $695.

Tim would destroy you all, whilst it is being recorded, and have Jony Ive narrate the whooping.

Phil walks on-stage: "Thank you! Thank you! This is the best Tim Cook we have ever created, and we're so excited to share him with you. We've got a lot to talk about, so first, here's a little segment from Jony about Tim."

Jony: "Tim Cook has properties that are similar to those of aluminium: light, but strong; flexible, yet sturdy. His biceps allow for a thorough finishing touch to the softened MacRumors user's body. Finally, after 15 rounds of beat-down, and through the gleam of his 32 brightened teeth, Tim is able to cast a smile of such perfection that, when combined with the rest of his features, make him the best Tim that Apple has designed yet".

I'd watch it.

"Apple has reinvented a**-whooping with our revolutionary new CEO. While our previous model was incredibly able and visionary, we decided we needed to change the game. Our newest version comes with fists made of our proprietary cold-forged steel, while his biceps are carefully crafted from a solid block of aluminium."
[doublepost=1476160766][/doublepost]Ah! You guys beat me to it!

anyone else read it in My best jony impersonating voice! Made it that much better.... but when the new mbp's comin??

The good thing about having quit waiting for it ( I have imperatives) is I'm not even mad anymore :) but one thing I can tell: For an event "early October", it's pretty quiet rumor-wise
By the way the last 5 pages are basically the same as 500, 1000 pages ago.
I'm appreciating the irony here : yes eventually one of you will be right... very much like the people who say they can see the future and see the end of the world. Eventually one of those bozos will be right.

actually the event was always pegged for late october, not early october.

On another note, did you settle for another laptop?

That is just not true. Early October had been pegged several times. It's even on the latest Macrumors page.

As for your other question, I settled on a Razer Stealth Blade, but my work isn't sure they can get one by next week (when I start). Looks like thy can't get an availability date here in Norway (hmmm Wonder what it reminds me) Had no answer about using my own MBP for the first weeks / months ;) so I guess it's toast.
If Razer isn't a possibility, then Lenovo OLED ( I have an OLED TV and I'm never coming back ).
If somehow THAT doesn't pan out, I'll go with whatever is the most expensive on Asus range.

Uh... we are all expecting late october, but wishful thinking makes us speculate that maybe the event would be earlier. Where exactly do you see "early october event" being displayed on the macrumors page?

Reliable sources pointed towards a "late October" event. Even the rumors on the main page say "late October".

I'm not surprised there are no so many rumors; MBP and iMacs (the two most likely devices to be updated) are going to preserve most of its form. Actually, the only thing that is probably going to change design-wise is the Function Row and that's exactly the only thing that has leaked.

Most of the updates will be the internals, so there is no much room for info to be leaked.

The iPhone 7 rumors were only about the removal of the headphone jack and the dual-camera; because those were physical changes to the phone. Besides that, there was nothing else but pure speculation (like the one happening right now).

Honestly I think it could be worse. It's currently around £1:$1.23 wholesale. Considering US product prices are marketed without sales tax (from what I understand) and U.K. VAT is 20%, we're looking at closer to $1:£1 for Apple products. Which means the base rMBP could jump from £1000 to nearly £1300.

At least, that's my fear.
