Honestly I think it could be worse. It's currently around £1:$1.23 wholesale. Considering US product prices are marketed without sales tax (from what I understand) and U.K. VAT is 20%, we're looking at closer to $1:£1 for Apple products. Which means the base rMBP could jump from £1000 to nearly £1300.

At least, that's my fear.

I was saying that a few days ago also as I have money laid away for a new MBP for a year now which I don't think is going to be enough and with forecasted rate collapse projected beyond the 1985 lows of £1:$1.05 - probably worse I think I am going to have to suspend notions that I will have enough for a new MBP or frankly anything else imported. (which is pretty much everything). Well done Britain this is a jolly old place to live now.

Everybody is losing it and dropping like flies damn, even if we got the MBP as early as the fabled 24th October rumour we wouldn't see invites till the 17th/18th. History proves Apple sends out invites 7/8days prior to the event it self. Let alone the October 27th rumour which would mean invites for the 20th. It's only October 11th, everybody calm down:)
I agree with Granit. The 27th is still 16 days away. The longer the wait, the greater the product < I always say this to myself to calm myself down. I know it isn't true, but hey, it works.

No.

MacBook (1 size, possibly a second to come?)
MacBook Pro (2 sizes)

That's it.

The Air is a dead man walking. As soon as the MacBook can come down to sub-$1K prices, it's outta here.

That's the MacBook level, not that complicated really.
I agree, don't know what that comment was all about.
Although MacAir with a retina screen would be awesome. Much better than MacBook core M.

If there's no announcement of the new macbook in October, I think I'll go for the Dell XPS 15. I'm not waitting till next year...

Just had look at the top end XPS 15 and the price has shot up to £2,049.00 here in the UK.
Think it was around £1800.00 at one pint...lord knows what these Macbook Pro's will come in at over here....when they eventually hit...

probably 200€ more expensive than the current ones?

That's my fear kinda. I have a budget of arround 2600€, which fit's the top end 15'' with student discount at the moment. I hope they don't go up in prices too much.

Indeed. Apple already raised its iOS prices massively last month (through sheer luck I bought an iPad Pro + accessories the day before and saved around £120 in the process). Macs didn't go up at all (not MBPs anyway) strongly indicating that Apple are clearing inventory before raising prices with the new models. If the price rises on iPads are any indicator, given further recent devaluation of the £ I would not be surprised if the £1999 15" moves up to ~£2499. That is, assuming the £ doesn't tank too much further in the next couple of weeks!

"Taking back control" (I.e. shifting powers from one set of bureaucrats to another) better be worth it for someone, because it's really starting to cheese me off.

people chained to gates, nude womens running around, pyro etc.
I can do the pyro part. I'm a blacksmith (among other things) and I know how to spit fire.

Any naked women volunteering?

Gods, I knew British pubs were expensive, but that's an awful lot. How are people supposed to get drunk with those prices?!

I just wanted to make something "relatively clear."

IF there is NO OCTOBER EVENT (no press release either): Unless there is some seriously funky business going on.

You're gonna have to wait till March. Just letting you guys know this.

Let me repeat unless there is something fishy as hell going on at Apple, like a Thanksgiving Event or something (yeah right), if there is NO OCTOBER, ehameh, you guys might be waiting till MARCH.

So either way something's gonna break...

Nah, all of the credible rumours say the March event is going to focus on iPad. How would that go then?

"... So that's iPad Pro the tablet that can replace your laptop. Next Laptops ..."

Same. Even my girlfriend is complaining about it. No joke.

How could I when I spend my life here?
