Reliable sources pointed towards a "late October" event. Even the rumors on the main page say "late October".

I'm not surprised there are no so many rumors; MBP and iMacs (the two most likely devices to be updated) are going to preserve most of its form. Actually, the only thing that is probably going to change design-wise is the Function Row and that's exactly the only thing that has leaked.

Most of the updates will be the internals, so there is no much room for info to be leaked.

The iPhone 7 rumors were only about the removal of the headphone jack and the dual-camera; because those were physical changes to the phone. Besides that, there was nothing else but pure speculation (like the one happening right now).

Well there were also rumours about the new jet (aka piano) black colour, 256GB storage, larger battery, reduced antenna bands, waterproofing.

But I still agree there will be a late October update. Even though very little has leaked.

I just wanted to make something "relatively clear."

IF there is NO OCTOBER EVENT (no press release either): Unless there is some seriously funky business going on.

You're gonna have to wait till March. Just letting you guys know this.

Let me repeat unless there is something fishy as hell going on at Apple, like a Thanksgiving Event or something (yeah right), if there is NO OCTOBER, ehameh, you guys might be waiting till MARCH.

So either way something's gonna break...

No investor is going to be very worried about the Mac line. I personally wouldn't be selling Apple shares even if Apple never updated the Mac again. I'm a Mac user, I love the Mac, and I hope they do refresh them soon, but the future of the company is not the Mac.

Not really a serious comment; but some here seem to think that Apple is constrained by the quiet period. Problem is the quiet period has gone on for over a year.

So you're saying these a strong possibility of a MAC HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA? :)

Haha, you are just stressed and nervous. Talking nonsense :D
It's happening when it's happening - NO ONE except Apple knows when.
Keep calm, eat a banana

"mid october". oh come on guys, are you always that impatient (after that long struggle)?!

Tim promised that if we reach page 2048 before release, he'll offer a free* upgrade to 2TB ssd for the top 10 posters of this thread.
i know, because i'm Ming Chi Kuo.

Honestly I think it could be worse. It's currently around £1:$1.23 wholesale. Considering US product prices are marketed without sales tax (from what I understand) and U.K. VAT is 20%, we're looking at closer to $1:£1 for Apple products. Which means the base rMBP could jump from £1000 to nearly £1300.

At least, that's my fear.

That's what we usually get in Europe, 1000$:1000€. Not only with Appleproducts, with everything. So yes, sadly I think it could be that bad.

The top Macbook Pro 15 costs 1999£ (2210,55€) on the uk website, the same Macbook costs 2799€ on the spanish website. 600€ more expensive :S

So did MS steal Apple's thunder with their October 26th event? Honestly, I don't see how apple can pull this off before their earnings report and MS's event. Should we resign ourselves to a November event?
Ask yourself if you think Apple believes they're inferior to Microsoft and give a damn about what they do and when they do it? Microsoft's events doesn't affect Apple's own scheduling

Everybody is losing it and dropping like flies damn, even if we got the MBP as early as the fabled 24th October rumour we wouldn't see invites till the 17th/18th. History proves Apple sends out invites 7/8days prior to the event it self. Let alone the October 27th rumour which would mean invites for the 20th. It's only October 11th, everybody calm down:)

If there's no announcement of the new macbook in October, I think I'll go for the Dell XPS 15. I'm not waitting till next year...
