still waiting for macOS sierra 10.12.1 release

i wouldn't expect any new macbook pros till that is out first.

Same. Wait for this and then start expecting invites. I'm banking on either the 20th or the 27th, so realistically, the latest date for invites would be the 20th itself (or I guess the 22nd if sent at the five day mark).

I'm not just hoping for Macs this month; I'm expecting them.

If prices haven't already been adjusted for the current version - one should really consider buying before the update.

When the NOK crashed against the USD Apple increased their prices quite significantly in Norway.

Could easily see 10% increase and maybe as much as 20%.

Would put the base model 15 inch at about two grand. The moment they are selling a notebook for two grand with Intel Graphics is the moment you start shopping elsewhere.

Or, November, unless Apple is willing to loose the laptop share of holiday shopping to MS and others. Can Apple afford this? It already lost the back to school sales.

i still would not be shocked if there is no invites/event and they just release through a press release along with video showing off the new design.

If the exchange rate doesn't improve that's exactly what's going to happen if the new 15" base model stays at the same price point in the US.

$1999 @ $1.22 to the £1 = £1635. Add on our 20% VAT and you are up to £1962.

Does anyone remember the reasoning for the 20th? I know the 27th is because of the moved earnings call (although I still think the moved earnings call was due to Microsoft's event or something)

I don't I remember people mentioning it, but not sure why. just process of elimination I guess. some people believe they want the event before the earnings call. which would make the 20th make sense.

oh and some chinese guy / serban #6 said that a chinese forum said it was the 20th

Most likely this minus 1 actually. :)

Why minus one? sure the first post will start at 0. but it gets displayed as post 1. so post # 4,294,967,295 would get displayed as post 4,294,967,296.

At this point, we don't even know if there'll be an event, or just an orchestrated release to select journalists.
I mean I bet there will be an event still. Kuo said it would be the biggest reveal of the year. and also they have the MacBook pro, the MacBook air, the iMac, and potentially mac mini. and the OLED bar deserves a demo. plus they can bring mac devs like adobe on stage to show the bar being used in their applications. of and Firaxis Games games of course.

Oh absolutely, I dont doubt for a minute that its very possible. I just wonder at what point to they start eating some of the difference, at what point do they start eating into those huge margins?

Granted there has been some effect of currency fluctuation but we've reached a point in the UK where the mid tier iPhone (4.7 inch) is £700, the mid range iPad (9.7 pro 128 gb) is £639 and we are looking at nearly 2k for base model 15 inch laptop. No surprises that they are seeing declining hardware sales.

Count me in the group too... I think we have a few 'sub-groups' on this forum...
