I am all for wishful thinking. I hope its the 20th too. :)

Okay I know this has been discussed a million times on this thread...
but I am wondering what you guys are thinking for pricing?

13" 128/8GB -$1400
13" 256/16GB - $???

15" 256GB/16gb/Iris Pro - $2000
15" 512GB/16GB/Polaris - $???

I wholly believe that was just speculation, an educated guess, just like what we all are doing on MacRumors. Don't forget, this forum is also comprised of true leaks, speculation. I don't suspect any different on a Chinese forum built for Macbook enthusiasts. Logically, leaks pertaining to the chassis or functions of the MBP are very, very plausible. The whole damned supply chain is located near Chinese cities. Shenzhen and Chengdu(where many computers are manufactured), along with a few other cities, are huge cities! Trust me, I'm Chinese American and I've been. However the natural course of conversation after would be "Hmm.. I wonder what day the invite/event will be", so they speculate just like us.

It's unfair to hold them to such high regard and then nitpick everything they say. Don't forget, we're all just forums for rumors. Some of what they say might be correct, because they are much more likely to receive remote and individual rogue leaks (hundreds of thousands of workers in China, coupled with millions of Macbooks produced), and some are just speculation.
Yeah bro, but the point is that he didnt say anything new, except from the release date. We already knew it will have an OLED bar and a Skylake processor. So, that's the reason I came up with the "how do manufacturing workers know the release dates?" thing in the first place. It was a post with known rumours and an unknown release date. So people jump on that release date rumour - which is pretty obvious if you ask me.

and next thursday!

and the next day and the next day until, until the thread starts talking about November events... then December ones.

I still stand by this being the first launch event in the new auditorium at Campus2 early 2017, shipping March.

If the event is not this month then the March event will be very big right? Because they need to update their entire product line. Apple doesn't have the intention to release any actual hardware on WWDC and September is reserved for the iPhone.

These events were ALL past the midpoint of October, which is obviously October 15,16 since it is a 31 day month.

Literally go on the site you've linked and look for yourself. The INVITES were sent 7 days prior(obviously), but they were ALL sent later 10/12, which is today, so what is your point? They were sent October 13,2010, October 16,2012, October 15,2013.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Velma Kelly in an act... of desperation"

You know our thirst reached critical point when we're starting to argue about which day in October is its midpoint and digging for invites from 2010 :)

Lol I'm not arguing, I'm telling him that the midpoint of october is literally the middle of the month. Events in the Octobers of 2013,2012, and 2010 were all past the midpoint. He just misread it and protracted on confusing the invite date and the actual event date.

I want to believe that those storage capacities will be doubled. I mean, 128 GB in a "pro" laptop in 2016...? They doubled iPhone storage after all and Crap Keyboard Macbook starts with 256 as well.

I hear you. and hope you are right.
Though 128GB pro laptops do have their place in many business settings.
like if its to be a work only laptop, and the all/most the files are stored on server/cloud, or network drive etc.

and the pro laptop is just used as a workstation with a few applications

You are striking fear deep into my heart

Supposedly the MacBook Air is getting GONE! No refresh! (per Rene iMore) So if you want one...
Gurman says MacBook air will be updated

I am realizing if there is an Air...

this allows the Pro to have a higher starting price, since they have the air to cover the low-end

In that case if woulda made more sense to just refresh the current design with Skylake back in WWDC and bring a whole new design next year... They seriously cannot wait that long just for the cliché of "hey guys new home new looking laptops"

voice of reason,
thanks you stopped my panic attack from starting

Where did he say that ?

Am I the only one that thinks the Macbook is eventually going to replace the Macbook Air entirely? I mean, the original point of the Air was "Holy **** look how thin this laptop is!" not "Hey look, we made a netbook".

If they can get the costs down on the Macbook bit, it seems to me that the Air just intuitively has a short lifespan.

Not to beat a dead horse, but the product lines are too complex...not sure if Apple cares about that though.

The OLED touch bar might be interesting but hoenstly, if that is the only "killer feature" that the 15" inch macbook pro brings, I'll be disappointed. Thinner, lighter, and USB-C just wont do it for me anymore. I love my 2012 rMBP and speed wise, it's plenty snappy. I use to upgrade my macbook pro's every year until the mid 2012 mbp. Since then they've had two marginal refreshes. One from IVB to HSW and a small HSW clockspeed bump.

I feel like anything short of the 15" macbook pro coming with a full OLED display, not just the touch bar, I'll be disappointed.

My laptop is an Asus from 2008 with 4Gb Ram, so even if the only new feature of the MBP is a redisegned apple's logo I'll buy it :D.

It will be my first Apple's computer, I've used them at work and girlfriend's but never owned one. I've allways been more a PC person but now I feel like changing to Mac, mostly for work (video editing).

Super complex. And they all look almost the same to the untrained eye; the thickness is the only difference they see (and price, of course, price).

Oh its on its way out definitely. I dont think its going to get a full redesign with a retina screen etc more likely just a bump to skylake and thunderbolt 3/USB C
