Dell website, it's on the front page, at least in the spanish one.
They've had the REWARD10 code here in the US for the last couple of days at least (10% off). I'm gonna sit tight and see what Apple does (or doesn't do) this month. I've got to think there will be plenty of great deals to be had on PC's through the end of the year if Apple does drop the ball on this "release"....which I really can't see them doing.

Though it's only for european countries

Where did he say that ?
On MacBreak Weekly (Tuesday), I was sleeping while I was listening but he was laughing/giggling saying it looks like it might not get updated, and they are going to goto just MacBook (nothing) and MacBook Pro, all retina...

Start at the 47 minute mark in the podcast, they start talking about the event and gurman it should be around there...

I mean this makes sense, and leaving the air as the budget / entry laptop option.
But I really don't see the air being updated without a retina screen. I imagine apple wants retina screen across their entire product line. And they should. The air would behind other ultrabooks if it still has its current display.

This line up looks really nice. I like it.

I think the prices are a bit too lower than we can hope for.
What could apple do to shave off $300 from the rMB they just updated?

also I think you mean 4.5W not 7W.

Yep, 4.5W, my bad (which were ironically released in Q32015, so even they're 'outdated'). But they can easily shave that price. It's heavily marked up, just as the original Air was.

I watched it. He was just speculating I think.

what was released in Q32015?

And is it really heavily marked up? competing notebooks like hp spectre, and zenbook 3 are at about the same price $1200 for 8gb/256gb.

I just don't think a $300 price drop is very realistic of their laptop that was updated this summer. I wish though.

There's no way Apple will release new Airs. I will take 2 shots if new Airs are coming out!

So far, I'll take 2 shots if:

1) Someone says, "this is the best macbook pro we've ever made."
2) New Macbook Air redesign
3) Tim Cook says, "I love macs" on stage

So not fair. I just got an email about an update to the Outline app... my bold highlight. Everyone is making fun....

.......
Sneak peeks are fun.
What's inside new MacBook Pro?
Who's Negan's victim?
......

If you don't have a link from a credible source, it's not a rumor. It's just speculation.
Rumors aren't always from credible sources. They're "a circulating story based on doubtful truth". Speculation can and very often are a part of rumors. I can speculate that they're going to send invites on Oct 13, and if it spreads, it becomes a rumor. What is it based on? Mindless speculation, or credible source? Doesn't matter. It is a rumor.

Rumor
noun: a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth.
verb: be circulated as an unverified account.

The current MB procs were 'launched' by intel in Q32015: http://ark.intel.com/products/88198/Intel-Core-m3-6Y30-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-2_20-GHz

The competing notebooks all sport i based procs, not the lowly m series that Apple uses.

It's too specific to be considered relevant without some kind of source. If I told you I vaguely remember hearing that Apple picked February 2nd for an event, would you believe me? He can't even remember where he obtained the idea. That is nonsense however you spin it.

Not that this is particularly strong, but the 13th/20th combo came from the poster a while back who claimed to be from the chinese forum.

FWIW, previous Apple October events have all fallen in the 20-23 range.

We're obviously chasing our tails at this point, hoping for good news tomorrow!

2008 baby, runs like a wildebeest who's about to be lunch.

early 2008 Core Duo. It's far from a daily driver anymore but she'll get the job done for light browsing, some audio/video decoding/converting and even some Photoshop and InDesign work believe it or not. And that's with the original HDD!

Early 2011. Everything works perfectly but the HDD (loading times are frustrating). I'm going to replace it next week.

I'm in this thread because it's super active and entertaining but I'm actually waiting for an iMac update.

As someone whose machine is on its deathbed, I must say that wanting a new toy is no less noble a reason :)

...as long as your spot in line is behind mine.

Whether it's relevant or not isn't part of whether this is called a rumor or not. It might be a baseless, speculative rumor, but nonetheless it is a rumor if it is spread. The relevance of what supports the rumor gauges the probability that the rumor's contents actually manifest itself, but something like a guess/educated guess is also considered a rumor if it spreads. Now, the October 13 invite in particular came from VISLAN, who posted that that was what a chinese forum was speculating about the invite release day.
